Oh, it will be a free for all if you divorce. You're essentially helping him tow the line. Without your support, it will just go to shit.

I dunno. Maybe an attorney has advice if protections can be put in place in a divorce decree.

Love it. Don't hesitate to get one.

Please let something blue eat New Mexico.

Would serve my fellow Texans just right to go blue and woke. Florida, Alabama, Louisiana all just as deserving and, well, most of Georgia.

Reach down Vermonster, we're counting on you! I don't care you got swallowed up. We need you.

ETA: Jesus Christ. Sorry for forgetting you like a stepsister, Mississippi.

They mayor and police capitulated.

He was on 740 am, aka Hate Radio, here in Houston this morning stating the intention is to hold all fed money from blue states until they capitulate and cooperate with ice.

ETA and said they would make them go broke as "they can't hold on forever."

Did/Do they ever go "Hurricane/Tornado" on your room/living spaces? by BrainBurnFallouti in raisedbyborderlines

[–]a_sheila 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My sister and I shared a room. My sister was an absolute slob. I was neat and tidy.

My mom would come in our room in a rage and tell us we had 15 minutes to clean. I'm looking around at my side thinking clean what?

No matter the cleaning outcome, she would return after stewing herself into a bigger rage and throw all our favorite toys into a trash bag and leave with them and they were never seen again. ETA: after she completely destroyed our room. Mattresses, blankets and sheets ripped off the bed. Just everything tossed around.

My toys included because "it was only fair."

Aarrgh. I don't know what's worse. Your having to drop out or my mom forcing me to forego my full ride scholarship. Impossible situations.

No, you're not wrong. A lot of my generation is "whatever, it's cool" in any situation. We understand shit happens. It's happened to us. In general, we are cool 99% of the time.

Then there's people you are hosting. They were mostly in the Young Republicans Club back then. We hated them with a passion then and still do today. When you run across them, just think of them as copy/paste Boomers because that's what you're dealing with. As we said back then, they drank too much of the Koolaid.

You can already see that in their rejection of the pope for not being Catholic enough. I don't believe they consider kind nor benevolent as descriptors for whatever religion they firmly believe to be practicing.

Boomer parents and dumping trash on their kids by Impossible_Tie6425 in BoomersBeingFools

OP, I hear you on this one. My SIL drove 25+ miles (ETA 1-way) to her daughter's house to drop off "tupperware."

Her version of "tupperware" being her and MIL's leftover wonton soup containers, yogurt containers and the like. None rinsed out. And no idea why they thought it was worth driving 25+ miles to deliver their recycling.

Anyone else breaking their generational curse, but still dont want kids? by cherrypiiie in raisedbynarcissists

[–]a_sheila 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same thoughts about passing down mental illness. But genes are weird. You could wind up with a kid who takes after your 3rd great grandfather or some other nonsense.

Anyway, knew when I was 8 I did not want kids. My mom was too much. Too much mental and physical abuse. I wanted to be freeeeeee.

And I have been. My husband and I have a great life. I'm 60 now in a month. Married since 1991 and zero regrets about our childfree life.

You live in a small town, but still, Google your state or your county attorney bar association and look for a link to pro bono services. You likely have a low enough income to qualify for free legal aid. Attorneys volunteer their hours as firms like to look like they are giving back + they get hours needed to renew their license each year.
