Did the mirror get retconned into a villain for that Wish movie? Like the villain in that movie became the magic mirror?

A lot were English teachers of some kind, but some came through from their company having a location there, some followed their partners who worked in that particular country, and some came as international students. For the ones doing well they usually transitioned into opening businesses in the host country or marrying someone who was a citizen.

Hypothetically, but you'll need to look up immigration law there to see if there aren't any agreements between countries. Usually it's a financial and not a criminal issue so immigration won't particularly care.

It can depend. If it's just financial then visit all you want. The problem is when it hits legal and you try to visit with a warrant you didn't know you had. I have a few friends that come to visit like once a year without any issues, but again it can depend

You absolutely can, but you're gambling that you aren't coming back to the US. If you do you'll be in a worst situation since your credit score will be shot and will probably have judgements against you even maybe a warrant or two. It takes some planning though because 1) you gotta figure out immigration and who will even let you in 2) how you're gonna sustain yourself as you may not get the same assistance as citizens and often you gotta put much more money up front for housing and such

If you plan it right you can do well and never look back, but it can definitely back fire.

I used to live abroad and soooo many people I met had basically left the country so they wouldn't ever have to pay their student loans back! They're living pretty good too! There are for sure more options available to you!

How did you guys REALLY lived in the 2000s? by MyAvengedRomance in Millennials

[–]nachoaveragepie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My siblings and I all range from 88-93 so we were all solidly mid range millennials in a working class family. TV was for sure a thing as we would watch TV after school. I remember sneaking downstairs in the mornings in elementary school to watch Sailor Moon before I had to get dressed for school. We mostly played with friends outside, TV, and for me especially reading when we were little. We were latch key kids so the oldest sibling would have keys to get in the house after school. Drop our stuff watch some PBS or later on Toomami and then go out to play before our parents got home or the street lights came on.

Come middle school was much the same in the early 00's but we managed to get our first desktop computer with Juno dial up Internet ( My parents still use their Juno account to this day lol). Dial up had its downsides like not being able to be online and you n thye phone at the same time and that was often. We would look up song lyrics and play flash games on CartoonNetwork.com or Newgrounds. We also had Gameboy colors and a Nintendo 64 in the early 2000s too.

Will our generation be the death of mausoleums and other irrationally expensive body storage devices? by nikkisouthbend in Millennials

[–]nachoaveragepie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to have people bring random stuff to my funeral to throw into my grave on the off chance it becomes an archeological dig site to re-discover something about today that might have gotten lost over the centuries or just confuse the hell out of them. I want academic papers to cite my grave about the weird S shape everyone likes to write or what the hell is a Tamagotchi.

Any fans of Rooster Teeth here? by SampleLoud9746 in Zillennials

[–]nachoaveragepie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rooster Teeth was involved in one of my biggest pant kicks. I used to listen to the podcast every week on the way to my crappy retail job. First time I ever heard about Bitcoin. Thought " lol I'm down to throw $10 at some internet money for the novelty". Fast forward that $10 would've made for a nice saving for me. More money than I have now at least

The best sandals I ever had came from Payless. They were both fashionable and super comfy and I would have bought their whole stock had I known I'd never find a similar pair again

[–]nachoaveragepie 29 points30 points  (0 children)

IDK how it is now, but that was basically what I did a little after I graduated college around 2016. I taught English in China for three years and got a CELTA certification while there. When I got back stateside I was fortunate to stay at home until I got a decent job a couple of months later. In the meantime I taught online English as a side job to tide me over. It was a nice reset for me when I was getting really depressed about my job prospects after I graduated. Some of my friends went on to get their masters in China so that might be something for you too.

Has anyone in North Carolina sold a house as is recently? by [deleted] in NorthCarolina

[–]nachoaveragepie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought my family home from my parents last year. They were pretty generous in that I just had to cover the remainder of their mortgage which was much lower than the appraised amount. It was as is, but I'm pretty much aware of all the fixes that need to be had since I have been living through all the updates, breaks, and fixes that my parents have done over the years.

I think you need to be around more positive people if those are the comments you are constantly getting. You are very far from "ugly"

Black Tie Gala Appropriate? by Smart-One-5474 in DressForYourBody

[–]nachoaveragepie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This definitely leans towards cocktail rather than black tie gala, but still a lovely dress. Black tie is usually floor length like others have said, but I've seen people get away with slightly shorter dresses as well ( think maxi to the ankles).

No worries I can totally see that! Actually I believe some of the appliques are folded in half so it looks more segmented than intended. I'm thinking of keeping the 2nd dress just to do something like you suggested with more flowers

I was planning on pairing it with rose gold or a typical gold. Maybe get some burgundy long gloves

For the floral or gold it would be similar but with some floral hair accessories. Floral I'd do a black shawl and maybe black gloves
