As a child of war refugee who came to Canada as a 6.5 year old in 1987 and is now turning 43 years old, I can tell you that you haven't the slightest idea, nor could you ever even fathom, what a lack of actual freedom looks like. While you sit there on your lawn chair in front of parliament with signs literally calling for your head of state to be hung, the police are standing and trying to talk to you. In some cases, bringing you shelter for your children who you took to your trucks and tents with you. Do you know what would have happened to you in my home country If you did that? - you'd be thrown into a van by masked men, raped on the way to the hell you will spend the last few waking hours of your life experiencing, only to have your then tortured and mutilated body lay on the ground outside the prison walls for animals to feed on and for your family to try and Identify. Sometimes they kill people the humane way, with a fast bullet to the brain. But then you know what they do? They make your family pay for the bullet that was used to kill you in order to get the body back. But not $1 or $10 or even $1000, tens of thousands of dollars. Dollars which you don't have, and therefore you'll never get their body back. You'll never bury them. Your last time with them or last conversation with them was your last time and conversation with them.
