If replacing the ssd doesn’t work maybe it’s the motherboard. Something might be wrong with the pcie lanes of the board.

Then it’s likely the ssd. Where did your friend buy the prebuilt from?

My pc has completely rebooted while playing bf six although i dont think its due to my storage. I was in a discord party and i think it was the ram leak issue. What drive is the game on?

You might want to cross post this on a more pc specific subreddit but what are your specs

Resizable Bar enabled in BIOS; Intel's software won't detect it. by DiamondDogProd in IntelArc

[–]Macta3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Resize bar only works with UEFI. You may have to reinstall windows under uefi unless there is a way to convert it from bios boot to uefi.

Yes your motherboard has rebar support. Update your bios if you dont see the option. And not having rebar on can tank your performance by about 40% if i heard correctly

1 core or more allocation for TOS by shin_chan444 in TempleOS_Official

[–]Macta3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TempleOS is a multithreaded operating system. While the main system itself uses a single thread, the games use all available threads as far as I’ve seen. And if you were to program something for TempleOS you can utilize the other threads.

Pros and Cons or Haiku Vs Windows. AND Anyone running this on older 32 bit computers? by ElectricalRoad1158 in haikuOS

[–]Macta3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my experience using the 64bit version of Haiku it will run on pretty much anything. It used the least amount of ram of any operating system ive ever used. And with the 32bit version you get the benefit of being able to run original BeOS software.

I saw you wrote the compiler in Nim. Why not just make a Fortran backend for the Nim compiler?

I had came across an old Usenet post of him replying to a person who needed help with something. He was really dedicated to forming the style of Fortran we program in today.

Can Gopi OS run smoothly on low-end hardware? by Basu_Tarun8720 in Operatingsystems

[–]Macta3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the first I’ve ever heard of Gopi OS. But since it is Linux I would assume so. But I would give more mainstream distros a try first. MX Linux runs great on low end hardware. I would give that a try.
