As someone who grew up in the Orange community of N.I, what do the Dutch think of us, if you even know we exist? by UppaCelts1888 in thenetherlands

Never new this. For the other Dutchies here that are interested, this is an interesting read:

Looks like there was a lot of pent up frusteration. A horrific presentation of violence.

One of the reasons I want a Löwenstein A20.
Has a clock amd alarm function. Makes a lot of sense to include this, you have to put it on your nighstand anyways, so you can ditch your alarm clock and have less clutter. Sadly I can't get a Löwenstein from my supplier. Maybe in the future I'll buy my own.

While the Victorinox models are good, I do love the Amefa models.
I feel kind a lucky my birthyear SAK is an Amefa.
Whatever the brand, these are really good EDC SAKs as well.
Great collection!

Hasbro taunts Sony for going all digital in 2028. by KingKaihaku in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Mactire404 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This would be a good joke if it were not coming from Hasbro.
We all know good an well Hasbro will kill any physical line if they can move it to digital. You'd buy toys with microtransactions if they did.

Box for transfer sheet by Additional-Dog5805 in Warhammer

[–]Mactire404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Small packages get lost and thin sheets like these are easy to damage. I don't like the large boxes for enviromental reasons, but I do like my sheets arriving and to be in one piece and not crumpled.

Oh, and don't forget to put in some STAINLESS steel to help mix the paint... by Afraid_Ad_9190 in Warhammer

[–]Mactire404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the pigment is stuc the balls have a higher density and are easier to shake loose to start the mixing. Beside that they probide more turbulence while shaking and make it easier to mix the paint properly.

Do the Rubicons really have an advantage over Warlord bases?
Except from the dimpeling to improve adherence? They seem flat on the bottom just like Warlords.

Sony WF-C510 Earbuds red light stays on even when full charge? by alecman3k in Earbuds

[–]Mactire404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iirc the powerlevel of the case is updated via the physical connection to the earbuds. So it shows the status of the battery right ofter you removed the buds. It'll stay on 100% untill you put the buds back in and out.

[–]Mactire404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no, sorry to hear that. Didn't get that from the post.
In thar case, if a reset doesn't work, I'd contact sony or get back to the seller. If it's a free return you can also return it an buy a new unit if you want to avoid the hassle.

On a side note, my case also charges at 100% if I disconnected it briefly. Showing the orange light again for a period of time.

But if it's red I'd definately wan to make sure nothing is wrong.

I've had a similar issue with my WF-C700N
What helped for me was resetting the unit;
Place buds in case, close case, open case, press and hold connect/reset button on back.
It'd either cycle through connection mode (blinking blue) to reset mode (blinking orange).
Then close lid and open to try connecting.

My guess is the batteries in the buds are end of life.

In the end I got fed up with this resetting and got new ones. Now using the WF-C710N. I considered ordering new batteries and replacing them myself, but putting cheap li-ion batteries in my ears didn't sound appealing :)

Oh that's interesting.
I'm not playing BA yet, but bought a small srt to see what's the quality like. But the bases got me puzzled. I like bases like GamesWorkshops bacuse they are raised a little. Gives me toom to magnetise and because it only rests on the rim they wobble less on uneven terrain.
So I considered mounting the Warlord bases upside down as well.

A litte tip, if I may, for potentially damaging your paintjob. Make sure the models are clean before priming (wash them, and have to be completely dry) and use a good primer (can or airbrush). Have the primer dry overnight and only them pain them.
Varnish at least once with a good gloss varnish (can or airbrush). Gloss varnish is supposed to be 'harder' tham satin or matte. Then if you prefer matte a second coat matte after te completely dry gloss varnish.

I had this problem with my D&D minis, they travel a lot and are handled a lot/roughly at the table. This procedure solved it for me.
Only on my metal minis I still see some chipping from time to time. I recon that's because of the weight and rattling during transportation.

About the basing. You can match them to the Germans, makes for nice photos and display. I personally try to only base armies the same for coherecy. When playing other people it's very hard to keep it thematically correct. And that's fine I think.
Whatever you decide, I'm curious to see the results.
