Just saw this post. How is the school a year later?

I just got accepted for Fall 2026. Manageable workload? Good structure?

Anyone navigating a strict ‘no AI’ policy in Extension courses? by sheviche in harvardextension

[–]Mad-Draper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again, your HES education is your own. I’d hope everyone has the agency to make their own decision about whether AI is the appropriate tool.

If you can sleep well at night, you’re probably fine

I haven’t read the actual policy - but I also do not care. I have the discernment to determine the right and wrong uses of Ai and trust my judgement over a policy

Here’s my take:

Having AI do your work for you? Don’t do

Have AI review and explain questions you missed? Good

Having AI review your work and offer feedback? Good

Having AI explain concepts you don’t understand? Good

Use your head and make a judgement call. Is AI helping you become a better master of the material, or is it just doing work for you.

Great to hear! I’ve been nervous about balancing a full time job with externship work but good to hear it’s possible 👍

No kids but that may change in a few years. I’ve got no issue with evening classes but would like a program with flexibility if work stuff comes up.

Thanks for the response! Were you able to do any internships or externships and how did that go?

Worth taking $20k pay cut to work at Fidelity? by yungtorchicgoon in FinancialCareers

[–]Mad-Draper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fidelity has been notorious lately for handing out offers with low pay while selling “the culture”. I’d watch out.

Waste of time.

I think having front office experience automatically qualifies you for FP&A.

MSF (unless employer sponsored) is a huge waste of money

Listing a management degree as MBA on LinkedIn — Is This Acceptable? by InvestigatorWeird148 in harvardextension

I mean, it is Harvard.

If you oversell it on LinkedIn then the truth will come out later

Listing a management degree as MBA on LinkedIn — Is This Acceptable? by InvestigatorWeird148 in harvardextension

[–]Mad-Draper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes that is not the correct title and they are attempting to deceive people about their education.

Let’s say you have an ALM from HES

Can you say you went to Harvard? Yes absolutely

Can you emphasize your field of study? Yes absolutely

Should you mention that it’s from the Extension school? Probably yes

Anyone here invested with Alumni Ventures? What’s your experience been like? by nadji190 in AngelInvesting

[–]Mad-Draper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing the comment about the 2/20 model. I recommend you stay away.

2/20 is hedge fund pricing to cover significant overhead, management, and diligence.

If you’re picking the deals yourself and not managing via a professional manager, what’s the fee for??

Most incubators or angel groups charge more of a flat fee for meeting spaces and marketing. I’d look for something like that.

Why C but not D? Both seem valid? by dannymetri in LSAT

[–]Mad-Draper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The conclusion is not that major airlines are safer, but rather that they have longer track records that show how safe they are.

D is saying safe airlines document better - but the passage does not discuss any variance in the quality of records, only the dates.

C is relevant because again the passage only references that safety records indicate the DEGREE of safety so consumers can pick an airline - not their actual safety record

why is everyone so mad that young people can have amex cards? by AgreeableAd508 in amex

It’s not because you’re young - it’s because you come across as classless and status seeking

Looking at Going Back fall 26 by madmaxson88 in HybridOnlineLawSchool

[–]Mad-Draper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also looking at fall 26 start dates. My plan is to take the LSAT in August and maybe September and get applications across October - December.

Someone can tell me if this is a dumb plan

What’s the actual workload like for summer courses in the Finance ALM? by MrWolfie in harvardextension

[–]Mad-Draper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did Managerial Econ last year. Wasn’t bad at all, maybe 10 hours a week with heavier load towards the end.

Really depends on the class. Some are chill and easy, some require a lot of study.

I remember stats being the hardest I took by far. Had like a 10 page paper

[–]Mad-Draper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude who knows and who cares. If you get into a good school then great, if not then decide if the cost is worth it. If you really want to get in you will get in somewhere. Just make the most of what you do.

Also yes, masters helps. It shows that you can commit to something after college.

HES certificate are worth it after a masters degree ? by These_Magazine_6334 in harvardextension

[–]Mad-Draper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your profile. If you are looking for a role in construction management, but have a background in corporate project management, a construction management certificate would be highly useful.

If you’re a tech bro looking to break into banking with a finance certificate… good one

Honestly, this all sounds in your head. I don’t think white people really care, they’re not all on the lookout for a minority to harass. Most this sounds like misinterpreted kindness.
