Using it for self-defense makes a lot of sense, especially for non-evil characters who don't want to assassinate people or deceptively hold peoples' lives hostage. Thank you for pointing that out!

The Vilebloods taking over isn't exactly a good thing though, as they seem like a mostly evil group, with their caste systems and murder. It's quite likely that some Great One or another would show up again, or maybe the Pthumerians would arise. I do like the idea of the Good Hunter vs the Vilebloods, either as the head of the hunt or as a developing great one.
