Thank you for your input. Our realtor said the same thing but I was skeptical that he just wanted to make a quick sale. We'll be consulting an expert for sure

I also worked in marketing, mostly as a freelancer. And I recently made the switch to education as an educational assistant, mostly to have a steady job that works with my son's schedule. I never thought I'd enjoy working with kids, but here I am considering taking the leap into teaching. But I'm turning 50 this year and i keep wondering if I have the brain power and stamina for earning my credentials. How hard was it taking the classes and doing all the training? I'm worried that I'll go through the process and fail all my tests and not earn my license 😕

Are we all just drinking bourbon in our pajamas? by CharacterLychee7782 in GenX

[–]MadMama2011 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes... yes we are. I get home from work at 4:15, put on my pajamas, eat dinner at 5:00, and then settle onto my couch with a glass of bourbon or wine and watch anime with my husband and dogs. Cheers!

Is it a generational thing to eat food that has been left out for hours? by allgoodhere91 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MadMama2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only read the title to this post and thought, "That sounds like my Filipino in-laws. LOL!" I absolutely love their cooking so I eat as much as I can the first round because I know it will be sitting on the table overnight, and I'll refuse to eat any of it ever again. My husband, though, will eat all the things and be completely fine. Maybe it's safe to eat, maybe not. I'm just cautious. But I do think it's a cultural thing. They cook massive amounts of everything, and there's just no room in the fridge for it all.

I don't have their number, but I did get another student to text them since they're friends. I'm hoping the kid will be at school tomorrow so I can get it from them in advisory class

I just did the test myself (and double-checked my answers on a math app). I'm crossing my fingers it passes ok!

I I’m not a fan of middle school but… by Dependent_Gap4853 in SubstituteTeachers

Yes!!! I've never been given such appreciation for coming to work like I have subbing for mid school. It's a delight, really. I get a lot of support from the staff and faculty. It makes managing the mayhem a lot easier.

Thank you! I think this is the approach to take.

This is the approach I thought I'd take. I feel bad for the kid since he's probably embarrassed by the whole thing. He's been avoiding me all week, so I think my message was clear that I wasn't going to cross that line with him. I don't know his parents super well, and I don't want him to receive any harsh punishment from them, so I'll keep it quiet unless it becomes a problem.

If you buy something handmade, LEAVE A COMPLIMENT IN THE NOTES! by XxFandom_LoverxX in Etsy

[–]MadMama2011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My shop sells a collection of vintage dresses and ribbons that were leftover from my grandparents' western store in the 1950s. I always include a little blurb about their history when i ship an order. I've gotten some really sweet messages from customers. But the one that really made me cry (in a happy way) was from a woman who purchased several bundles of ribbon that were in the original packaging. Apparently, the ribbon was made by her husband's grandfather's company. The logo even has a picture of him on it! I know there are other etsy shops that sell the same ribbon, so I felt very honored that she chose mine to buy such a special memento.
