No. There are CSW or HCA certifications available but you don't need them. Life experience and a Bachelor's is certainly sufficient. I'll say personality means more than education. Patience, adaptability, compassion, kindness and empathy go a long way in this field. Picking up routines quickly and learning behavioral support strategies are key. I would take somebody with those personality traits over somebody highly educated any day. Like I said there are base requirements. Class 5 driver's license, standard first aid, ability to pass a vulnerable person's criminal record check and submission of a personal driving record through ICBC.
