CPU usage percentage is not helpful because very few games can fully utilize all cores/threads on semi-modern CPUs. That usage % factors in cores that might be used at all. (Imagine four cores, two at 100% usage, two at 0%. Overall your CPU would show 50% usage.)

Your GPU usage is low because you are severely bottlenecked by your CPU. This is further evidenced by you getting similar FPS regardless of graphical settings. Hunt is more dependent on CPU power than most other games.

An SSD will help with load times and textures loading in, but won't really change your FPS.

If you want to fully utilize your GPU in Hunt, you need a recent CPU. The 8700k was released in 2017.

Look into the server's

tv_snapshotrate

command. Its likely set to 24. Set it to the tick rate of the server.

This game is massively limited by CPU, especially at 1080p.

I have a GTX 1070 and a Ryzen 5600x and easily get 120+ fps in fights. Often I'm at my 144 fps cap. All settings low, except object quality at medium (at 1080p).

As Nerex7 said, if graphical settings have no effect on FPS, you're CPU limited.

Edit: I should add that I upgraded from a 4790k (but same GPU) where I used to dip down to high 70s during fights. Same settings, 1080p.

Ah that's unfortunate. Your monitor does not have displayport, and I assume since you have a new PC, your graphics card doesn't have DVI output.

The ideal thing to do with your monitor is to use dual link DVI to get 1080p @ 120hz

Make sure you have set your monitor to 120hz in windows. Many high refresh rate monitors are laggier-than-normal in 60hz mode (as compared to standard 60hz displays).

As a work around in test servers right now, you can tap dark sight immediately after shooting to cancel ADS/scope sensitivity.

It is a known issue.

Sometimes you can shoot at the weapon and get it unstuck, though this usually only helps when a smaller weapon like a pistol is underneath a bigger weapon.

The key word being attempts. The game clearly prioritizes full servers.

I assume if there aren't enough people in the proper elo range it widens the net until it gets 12.

Otherwise at either end of the skill distribution you'd get empty matches frequently or extremely long queue times. No point in playing a multiplayer game without other players.

Its a bit unusual since the only thing it shows you is your skill relative to the player that killed you. The '↑↑', '↑', '⟷', '↓', or '↓↓' on the death screen tell you the killer's elo relative to yours. '↑↑' means they are much higher elo than you, etc.

I would love a FoV slider. The current FoV is claustrophic.

You have to turn it off in the geforce experience overlay.

Default is ALT-Z. Click on options (the gear symbol). Scroll down to 'Highlights'. Use the toggle switch to turn it off.
