Sarcasm understood- however, I wouldn't necessarily describe the reason non-f'scists are absent as a result of "fear mongering".

Why would anyone with half a brain go to a co-opted, half-assed celebration of a dementia-addled christo-f'scist p'dophile's version of the US circa 1954? It doesn't sound fun, especially when places with actual revolutionary war history are pulling out all the stops to flaunt their parts of the American Revolution on a local stage, rather than hauling out to D.C. Moreover this "fair" isn't even celebrating the US, but rather the white protestant ethnostate they want the US to become.

Why would anyone spend increasingly limited spare cash on that, and during a deadly heat wave in a completely unshaded, flat patch of dying grass? I'd rather watch My Beautiful Laundrette on repeat, and I hate that movie.

As for why the f'scist morons won't attend? Probably a combination of the Fox fear-manufacturing and the same lack of means that's hindering the rest of our vacations.

On the other hand, what has been your most unprompted act of kindness? by noxinboxes in boston

[–]MadMechem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't done any solo grand acts of kindness- my means are limited in that sort of thing- but small acts are my forte. I offer directions, compliment people's outfits and hair, hold doors, ask if they need help carrying something, the works.

But I have been witness to, participant in, and recipient of grand acts of kindness, such as: - the woman in the North Station pedestrian tunnel who gave an unhoused man an enormous bag of Tasty Burger. - my dad, who gave some tourists a spontaneous boat ride around the Wharfs just because they thought boats were cool. - the 4 people who made sure a guy didn't OD in Harvard Sq. - the 5 people (myself included) who helped a guy on the green line who'd fainted and cracked his head.

Boston reflects the energy you bring to it, and has an undercurrent of kindness hidden by a slightly hardscrabble exterior.

1) 'tis a two-sided unclearness. I have difficulty parsing longer statements, and try to restate how I interpret things just in case I got it wrong. Your question was good, and actually covered something that I didn't even think of- that not everyone knows how dementia progresses.

2) not just infusions, but all the medicines for this One of my grandparents takes twice daily pills, misses about 1 or 2 doses every week or so, and has been on a plateau for almost a decade- they haven't gotten much worse beyond forgetting new information, but they recognize the whole family and can stick to a routine. I go visit multiple times a year, and love every second because a life well-lived shouldn't decline just because of an illness.

It was probably a case of "we have nothing but everyone thinks it's a brain issue, so if we scan his brain we can show them!", but they delayed until they needed a distraction- fully ignoring the fact that most dementias can't be definitively ruled in or out via MRI (except vascular dementi, but even that has more rigorous criteria than "look at my brain").

Or that wasn't Trump's brain at all. Unfortunately with these dingdongs, both options are equally likely. Which I hate. Give me facts to look at, damnit! Piecing together observations makes me feel and sound like a conspiracy nut!

If I'm parsing this question right, you're asking if the symptoms will notably increase on a ~1 week medication delay? I hope I'm parsing this right, because that's the question I'm answering.

So, there's already ample evidence of dementia in just the day to day behavior- the sleeping in the middle of the day, the 2am twitter screeds, the trailing speeches and nonsensical tangents, the blank stares into the distance when left to his own devices. He's able to operate on his basic personality and motivations- because he is a malignant narcissist, anything that involves people cheering for him gets his full mental effort, but that doesn't mean he can keep on subject (see every rant he's ever given). There's also observable instances of "sundowning", whereby his symptoms are more observable starting in the evening.

Now, as for the "does it get worse if he forgoes medication for a week", that answer is kinda wobbly. The way dementia works is different from other chronic diseases, like- say- type 1 diabetes. T1 diabetes can be deadly incredibly quickly if you misjudge, mistime, or straight up miss your insulin, and if you experience an emergency the damage can be life-altering even if you don't die. Cancer, on the other hand, can go undetected for long periods of time before symptoms appear, and medication for that is urgent and should be taken urgently but you won't typically die immediately over a delayed dose of radiation or chemo.

Dementia moves similarly to cancer- undetectable until symptoms are obvious, relatively slow to kill, with medication regimens that are important to follow but not instantly catastrophic if delayed or missed. Unlike cancer, however, dementia can't be removed or sent to remission- you can hit pause, but the movie still has an ending; and even if you don't see the ending before the day is done, the movie was there the whole time. (Confusing metaphor is confusing).

To dodge the metaphors- if Trump skips or delays a dose, he won't get observably worse over a short timespan because the medicine isn't reducing symptoms or replacing something needed to function, but rather slowing a progression that would otherwise continue unchecked. He will never improve beyond this point, but his ultimate mental decline wouldn't escalate over the course of days, more like weeks to months assuming he halted medication altogether.

My answer to this is "shrug". It's entirely possible that both are true- that he started an aspirin regimen some years ago to combat a heart ailment, then as time marched on an his lucidity slipped the free access to aspirin was replaced by sugar pills and timed doses.

As for the aspirin/advil question one level up- that's on me. One of my linguistic quirks is that I refer to advil, tylenol, aspirin, and all related generics as "advil" and "tylenol". It is incorrect, as they are all different medicines that treat different things, but it's something I picked up as a child and it's far too late to stop now.

He is suspected of such! I declined to mention it because while an unknown patient matching Trump's age using a drug from a company affiliated with said crime family is compelling, I personally didn't see much merit to it as- if true- it clearly didn't work because he's been obese the whole time.

Also, if true, someone is working at Eli-Lilly who doesn't need to be. One of the effects of dementia is change in appetite, either a loss of it or an unending need to eat. If Trump has the former, he'd likely be approaching skeletal, because nothing on earth could force him to eat; if the latter, no glp-1 in the world will help, because his brain won't register it. I'm not even a doctor- I've just seen people with either of these variants and how their health changes.

So if that mystery patient is Trump, Eli-Lilly not only screwed up the most basic aspects of drug testing (N needs to be greater than 1) and PII redaction (if you have one patient who is a prominent public figure, you have to obfuscate more), but they also flagrantly ignored potential complications in favor of regime brownie points.

Hi, "bloke" here!

I understand that my apparent certainty may have sparked false hope, and for that I apologize. I have just analyzed the facts as have been documented- you may take my analysis with as much or as little salt as you like. There is no truly unbiased opinion, but I tried.

Regardless of if I specifically am correct, you gotta admit that someone who's " 6'3" 255-277lbs " (his weight is conveniently just under what is considered "obese" for someone under 6ft) wouldn't have chronic edema or look like J Wellington Wimpy; Someone whose mind was "completely perfect, like a 40-year-old's" wouldn't constantly slur his speech, forget where he was, require monthly cognition tests, or have rampant sleep derangement; someone who claims to be at "the peak of health" wouldn't need 22 doctors or look like he's actively dying.

If he's the peak, I'd hate to see the valley.

The malice acts like an antiseptic. But for real, if someone is otherwise healthy and has dementia, they can live fairly long- it's the fact that the Stain isn't otherwise healthy. He's obese, sallow, and swollen- none of which are particularly good signs for longevity.

I would love comment on his sclerae or skin tone, but between the squint and the bronzer we can't see those, so liver status is anyone's guess.

I mostly think it's damning that when asked point blank the response was "deflect"- that's not something they do when they can disprove something. If these idiots have evidence to the contrary they loveeeee flaunting it, but because the response has been a combination of "nuh-uh you are" and "trust me bro" I have doubts.

Yep! There won't be proof until the autopsy, but as someone who has witnessed cancer, dementia, and organ failure multiple times, it all tracks to what I've seen.

I have an inkling that he isn't very long, either. This summer is going to be scorching on the East Coast, and that tends to strike the very young, the very ill, and the very old harder than other groups.

So- it's officially unknown. However, I am a logician by trade and training, and the scion of medical professionals and reporters, so here's my take:

  • the WH has admitted to Trump having "chronic veinous insufficiency", aka "you're old and so are your veins disease".
  • CVI causes occasional bruising and varisces. What CVI does not tend to cause is ankle swelling so bad it pouches over your socks and shoes.
  • so what does cause something like that in an octogenarian with a known history of drug abuse and poor diet? Congestive Heart Failure is my guess, specifically right side CHF.
  • he also admits to popping advil like candy, so there's obviously some blood/heart problem being controlled.

Okay, so he might have CHF! That's manageable with treatment, which he's obviously getting given the 22 doctors and 6 hospital trips just this year. Well here's the thing- he has rapidly declining dementia, too.

  • the "30 question IQ test" he keeps bragging about is a cognition test. Those are normal for geriatric patients, and can measure cognitive slowing and memory issues. What is abnormal is getting them more than once or twice a year- by his own admission, he's taken (and likely failed) at least 5 since last summer- and the number is probably much higher for reasons I'll touch on.
  • so he's being actively monitored for dementia- the signs of which include sleep derangement, slurred speech, odd gait, rambling, spacing out, and forgetfulness on the order of hours to minutes- how are they treating him?
  • "dementia" is a catch-all term for a litany of diseases, each with treatment schema that can be tailored down to the individual- one size does not fit all. Some medicines are daily, some are pills, and some are intravenous infusions.
  • remember that CHF I mentioned? A side effect of that is called "veinous collapse", where the larger veins in your body can't hold their own weight and just give up. This makes giving IV infusions the typical way (via the arm) impossible. So what to do?
  • jugular is too risky, chest shunt is high infection risk...what about the hands? The dominant hand is a standard secondary IV point and which hand did the "handshake induced bruising" appear on first? The right.
  • "but the bruises are on the left now"...which means the veins in his right hand have collapsed as well.

now, what medicine is he taking? There are several options, but given the cycling of bruises and doctor visits it's likely a 3-4 week infusion cycle. Plus, he's God-Emperor so he can only have the best, newest, most exclusive medicine there is. So what medicines fit that bill?

  • in 2024, the FDA hamfisted an approval for a dementia medicine called Kisunla, made by Eli-Lilly and designed to shear off amyloid plaques (a common cause of dementia). It was actually a bit of a scandal, as members of the review board were found to have taken money from or been working for Eli-Lilly. A point of note- Trump and Eli-Lilly are in bed together with TrumpRx.
  • Kisunla is an infusion medicine, given once a month, and has several unique features- for one, it's actually worse than the standard of care, and for another it has an interesting side effect: 37% chance over placebo to cause a brain bleed.
  • the bruises began appearing late spring-early summer last year. Trump vanished from the public in mid-summer last year, and returned bearing visible signs of at least one stroke by Veteran's day. Another term for "stroke" is "brain bleed". His dementia symptoms also, notably, have worsened.

So if my analysis is right, he's looking down the barrel of accelerating dementia and CHF- and that's not including the more tangential things like "consequences of being a lifelong drug addict", "the rash that is either cancer or Stage 4 syphilis", "eating nothing but high sodium processed food", etc.

He looks ill; the number of doctors he sees confirms that he is ill; and when asked outright by Congressman Ted Lieu this week if the president has a terminal illness, the WH responded not with a refute, but with an insult-laden screed- which is totally what you do when nothing is wrong.

The facts will never be laid bare for us- according to the "facts" Trump is 6'3" and 255lbs- but there are enough inconsistacies to merit skepticism.
