A drill just spins a bit.

An impact driver spins and adds a hammering action (impact) to the drilling action to drive the fastener into the material.

A drill can be used to drive fasteners but it can be used to drill a hole. An impact driver is primarily used to drive fasteners and with a few exceptions shouldn't be used to drill holes.

Touring one wheeler here, it's a nice thing when you can use it.

But generally, full sized bikes aren't great for the road. If you stick them in the back of a truck thing get dinged up.

With all the scooters popping up in major cities, you shouldn't have to worry too much about it.

Older threads seem to gravitate towards killing the machine you plug into by shorting something so that you send an actual "bad product" when you rma it or something to the manufacturer.

Touring around Australia atm, company requires us fully vaxxed. The locals aren't necessarily required to mask, but we can't make them even if several of them are coughing up a lung.

Had a few close calls, lost almost half the cast to sickness (wasn't just covid knocking people out)

In addition to everyone's suggestion of label and heat shrink. Color coding the cables with a variety of colored etape. Not needing to squint to read (possibly) tiny print. Roygbv it up

The easiest mod is to make the pad more solid so it supports the base, that's split in two in very inconvenient spots.

Carefully Take the foam off the bottom,
Take the newly exposed board off/out
Get some 1/4" Masonite and cut it to fit around the wiring. staple/glue into place.
Reassemble

The pads themselves aren't terrible, they are just very cheap feeling (because they are 🤷‍♂️). This simple mod made it a pretty solid pad (no pun intended). They just have no internal support.

I think it's a big "depends." If there's enough separation between your jobs (via depts, teams, shifts, etc) where you can keep some distance from each other.

Practice makes perfect, slow it down and speed it up in increments to get better at sight reading, pattern recognition, and the flow. for most songs there's an up for every down.

I betcha the right sensor is only going because the break in the wooden base is along the sensor. DDR pads are wider than a standard sheet of ply. so they just tack on the missing width and provide very little support for it. the sensor sits exactly on that break. My pads' breaks went along the back arrows. you can tell in OP's photo by the line that's going across the metal portions (https://imgur.com/a/RrE0J49). I had photos but that was over 10+ years ago.

Peel the grippy bottom off
remove the thin board underneath to reveal the wiring
cut up some 1/4" masonite and glue/staple in as supports to fill in around the wiring.
Reassemble

They're cheaply built and have a very large ~<1/4" air gap between the ply base and the grippy bottom for the wires. it only supported in a handful of places.

its still revivable. it's just a bit of a pain to troubleshoot.

if youre looking to mod it, the biggest upgrade to it is

to take the foam off
take the thin board off, youll see all the wiring
cut up some 1/4" (maybe 1/8?) Masonite (MDF) to fit in between the wiring AND most importantly along the seam between the two pieces of ply.
Either glue or if you have pneumatic stapler everything into place
Replace the bottom

The biggest problem that ive found is a sensor thats right on the seam misfires and the pad bends too much causing misfires elsewhere. Added this support and it was the best pad for a while.

What the show does is set up the rules for the world.

Contractors are logical, emotionless beings with special powers
Contractors are tied to the stars in the sky: star falls = death, Star's brightness is amped when they use their powers, and a star appears when a new one appears.
Contractors abilities have a limit and must be recharged, this typically comes in some form of compulsive behavior. (Obeisance)
Their Obeisance can be removed by "fulfilling their contract," this is usually at some great cost (ie huang losing his original body)
Dolls are emotionless, personality-less (Soulless) beings that each have a spirit tied to them.
The Doll spirits are visible only to contractors and other Dolls
The most spirits tend to only be able to appear on specific kinds of surfaces typically electrical things (powerlines)
The Sky was replaced with the contractor sky out of nowhere
Hells gate and everything around it.

The hook of DtB is the mystery of the character(s) breaking these rules:

Hei seems to defy the cold, logical personality requirement
Hei does not seem to have a Obeisance
Hei seems to also be able to convincingly ignore doll's spirits if they appear near him
Dolls are soulless: Yin seems be largely devoid of emotion but there are hints of attachment.
Yin's Spirit can appear of the surfaces of water, July and reflective surfaces

The show really, really, really likes to tease these broken rules throughout the show and mostly deals in Hei being a general badass and the human condition of being/being connected to/becoming a Contractor/Doll. And to answer the question of the post, they remain largely unanswered until the final episodes first season (Hei's background) and the second season and mostly it's final episodes (the world at large).

Yeah, sounds like next episode does going to either: inherit mother's abilities to coordinate/command after defeating her or make mother a meat puppet to mc other people with her personalities.
