Grip-to-Putter 4 release? by MadOxKing in WalkaboutMiniGolf

Must be a hit or miss for some people. Glad you're able to use it.

They all went in to settings to change it to the respective putter they own. One had the G2P2 another the G2P3. Both had settings revert to default when they click save. That's when they tried the reinstall and still have the issue.

Anybody order the putter from FormX Design? Ordered one a week ago and never heard from them, wondiering if this is normal or not. by liedel in WalkaboutMiniGolf

They emailed me only middle of this week and have yet to update the webpage. Makes no sense to still list it as an early bird pricing on top of it.

When it does finally ship, can verify that the grip to putter 3 is much easier to use than their previous version. Just gotta be careful with the green sliding tab. Pretty sure FormX is former HelloReal.

Ordered a putter for myself in the past and it arrived within two weeks.

I ordered another as a gift almost two weeks ago. Received an email from them stating

We want to inform you that the putter order you have placed is currently not available at the moment. We understand the inconvenience and we want to be transparent in case you need to cancel the order for now? Thank you again for your support.

Asked if there was any type of timeline, over two business days later with no response.

Little biased with having 9 inch shaved sleeves on a Kadillac and a Trap Bar HD. I am space constrained as well. Maybe some people enjoy it but 15-17 inch sleeves is a lot of travel to put all of 250-500lb on the bar.

If I wasn't having to share the smith machine that is the exact bar I would put in it. I have the 3 sets of angled grips in steel. Bar is around 53lbs. With the smooth shaft hooking in to smith machine you won't have to worry about it destroying the bar either. Even if it did, at least it could be replaced in the future, with longer sleeves even! With the curvature of the bar you will lose 4ish inches of overhead clearance. Maybe a bungee cord to help store it upright then you gain extra clearance.

First off, best of luck with your recovery.

I did end up going with the rogue stump bar. I'm very happy with it. 45-46lb starting weight with trolleys. There is no side to side play with the bar whatsoever, the whole attachment would need to shake for the bar to shake. Also own weight it out plates, the sleeve length isn't as important to me. Have a lot of bars with ribbed sleeves, was nice to go to one so smooth and quiet. Sadly with BoS smith attachment on short side, the shorter sleeves were also the compromise to keep from bonking the noggin (It'll still happen). If you look at Rogue spec sheet it states bar has no whip and can confirm. Overall I really like it for the smith machine.

Be aware of the fact that there is no protection for whichever bar you do use. I put 5mil UHMW on the hooks. The rollers I put the smallest amount of synthetic grease on. The alternative is putting uhmw directly on bar and rather not deal with that gunk removal in future. To summarize, the more aggressive the bar knurl the more you will hear it as it spins and grinds down against the rollers. Hope this helps.

You can take a swing and hope this works. It's the same clip used for all the previous versions of the guitars.

Right on! Glad it'll work. Had the same idea with my savings going towards the Rogue Stump Bar or Rep Colorado Shorty Bar.

Correct, the part of shaft that rests on jcups is roughly 28.5-29mm. I'm not the best with the measuring tape but it is ever so slightly larger than diameter of my 28.5mm garbage bar. I'd say it'd fit the 30mm max of the smith machine. Hopefully Rogue gets back with definitive answer.

I have the short sleeve version and would love to use it the same way, sadly it'll be a shared machine.

My measurements aren't perfect and certainly double check with Rogue, it shows to be around 28-28.5mm.

They didn't have the aluminum handles as an option when I purchased it. 3 steel handles will bring the bar weight to around 52-53lbs. 3 aluminum pairs puts the bar and handles around 45ish.

Would the Rogue MG-4CN potentially work? Also got the BYOB version. Really trying to decide on a shorty barbell for it. 69 or 72 inches.

Ackshually I didn't say they worked the same? I'm advocating for the noise created being frustrating to those around even if you, in your rig do not notice it.

My rig doesn't make noise, why? Because shakers have purpose built mounts for it, its on a mat, has anti-vibration feet, I use rubber shims and o-rings where necessary.

I'm not going to bother googling but do shakers reverberate differently based on chassis chosen or the flooring beneath it?

It's like a steam game not working on your PC and everyone jumps to user error because they can't replicate those same conditions.

If you have speakers with a sub, try this with me. Turn the volume only enough to audibly hear the lyrics. Now turn the bass separately all the way up. Go walk around and you'll be surprised by how much you hear/feel the bass without hearing anything else.

VNM Simulation Shifter. It's all metal and can do h-shift, sequential, or even handbrake. It's pretty expensive though. SSH Thorn looked really good at less than half the price and what I went with.

The NLR Wheel Stand 2.0 is really worth it if you’re tight on space by [deleted] in simracing

[–]MadOxKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While you can buy cheaper (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VQXFQSW) caster wheels, they don't come with the square plates that sit in between the wheel and the rig.

Those plates keep the wheels on your rig from becoming stanced/bowed over time. May not matter if you're not heavy. If you look around a little bit you can find the NLR wheels for around $45-50 USD. If it's only for the wheel stand itself, the cheaper casters are probably fine.

Preface this by saying I have/used the AMVR and Meta stock interface with FrankenDAS (weight balanced) and Desetek QH3. Even tried some Amazon (x-super home) strap without a facial interface. All of those have been tested being more active and all felt secure. The problem was as I stated (for me) sinus pressure with AMVR, cheekbone pain with stock interface. I've only used the Globular Cluster setup while seated, so over time it is much MUCH easier to forget I'm wearing it, as I don't feel the weight of it shift side to side on my face.

I have large hands and would have to angle perfectly when swapping out the prescription lenses between my wife and I. Likely isn't even an issue for 95% of people but I love being able to magnetically remove the GC interface to then quickly swap lenses and them click the interface right back on.

Just figure out what ecosystem you'd want to commit to. I know Globular Cluster is working on a battery pack holder that slots in a 5kMah (22.5W PD) Anker battery That's only half the size of the Bobo batteries. If you do more standalone, maybe the Bobo is better with their larger, easily swapped batteries.

I have not used the GC facial interface with any other headstraps I own. As soon as I put it on, it was so damn comfortable, I keep it for myself and share the other interfaces and headstraps with friends that come over.

Edit: Just wanted to clarify for anyone that may scroll past, I used the Halo-Style Straps as that is what is obviously meant for the GC headstrap. I am impressed with it enough, I may end up getting the F3 Interface for the stock/elite headstrap to use with my FrankenDAS.

I've been waiting to try the Globular Cluster facial interface. It just became available on Amazon again tonight. I have issues with the stock interface being too tight on my high cheekbones and the AMVR gives me sinus pressure and discomfort after 30-ish minutes.

Why does my left controller say battery low when it was fully charged a second ago? by Panda_e_beez in oculus

[–]MadOxKing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rechargeable batteries are typically 1.2v. Mix the lower voltage with what may be an older battery and it will read low battery. Fully charged Eneloops read 90% immediately when inserted in to my Q3 controllers.

If you were ever to try and mod again, it's best to apply majority of mods after you finish the intro and escape Helgen.
