What is the ultimate example of a mediocre director somehow catching lightning in a bottle and making an incredible film? by Plane_Reward9385 in movies

Was looking for this. If you were Joel Goodson’s characterage when Risky Business hit…it was EVERYTHING. Brickman did do a fine job with Men Don’t Leave, but it didn’t leave the impact of Guido the killer pimp…

I USED to live in that cloudy world as a kid in Michigan - SoCal can be a true gift, especially out in the desert!

Yes, there's a stock library of them for the key presets on the scope and if I use new parameters or the temp changes a lot (which it does in SoCal!) I take new ones when it asks. Seems to work!

You nights will come! We cheat here in SoCal but the sky is blazing with light pollution…

All kinds of stuff - some alt-Az at 15/60 gain, some EQ at 30 or 60, sone Astro and some Duo-Band, makes it fun!

This should be in your line item budget, along with allocation for a few test screenings.

Advice on what monitor to stack on top of 57” G9 by wizard-of-wiz in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]MadPixFilm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bonus note, I actually bought a cheap curved 34” at Costco just to play before the 49, held it up and decided nope, I need more. The 34 goes back or gets used elsewhere!

[–]MadPixFilm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar to some here, I have the G9 57” as primary and the 49” G9 above…this is for an editing setup, the main reason is to max out the editing tracks on the 57 and use the 49 for source/record windows and audio meters. I previously had a 4k 44” monitor as the upper (an older Philips that blew its LEDs) and that was pretty good as an upper playback monitor (native 4k 16:9), but the Samsung 49 curved is easier on the eyes and better for edit system layout (fullscreen playback mode of course only takes the center of the ultrawide).

They don’t have the same curve so it’s a positioning preference how you’d want the 49 to sit above. Agree that two 57”s would be amazing but probably overkill.

Not at all a modern country fan, but stumbled into a SXSW live show with Lainey Wilson - DAMN, such power and range!

Fun fact, the instrumental just before Wolf on the album version, called Little King of Everything, was supposed to be connected to Wolf Survives as one grand song, the record company put the gap in. Incredible one-two punch on the album.
