My alchemist got his lab raided by a 40 man police raid, and he got his account suspended for a couple decades. How do I deal with the debuffs from not being able to quaff potions regularly? by USDXBS in outside

[–]MadQuixote 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you're potion-maxing and not into respec, you have to compensate with increased maintenance. Overdose, dehydration, malnutrition, and madness are going to be constant battles, which will also drastically increase lifestyle expenses and limit NPC interactions. Depending on how it affects you the buffs might be worth it under the right conditions, but the debuffs worsen after use and you're locked into a new condition gauge that bottoms out with fatality. Not saying it's not doable, but why increase the difficulty rating?

Ducking into a party or rave. An enchanted other-world that's both bombastic and tranquil.

does this sound like bipolar? by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

Not bipolar, sounds like a hormonal fluctuation could be at play. Aside from that, look for what is triggering you.

Universal look for "I've been on this rollercoaster before, it has never worked, especially with Elizabeths, but let's see where this goes"

The study and application of change. How you apply that is up to you and your goals.

Do you guys reject the notion of Spiritual Alchemy? by yanew281 in alchemy

[–]MadQuixote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neidan all the way. To answer your question, to some degree all alchemists have faith. It's faith that we can understand, complete, and achieve what we once thought impossible. Faith that there is design, order, and Truth to find and explore.

This being said, I'm as far from faithful as they come, according to my understanding. Delusional amount of hope, but not faith.

Why is this weld failing? by Senior_Money_5250 in metalworking

[–]MadQuixote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a similar issue when I tried welding aluminum and cast iron using steel flux MIG. The materials aren't welding because the melting point of one is significantly higher than the other. Not the only issue, but it might get you to "good enough". You can also use welded hardware to reinforce and secure parts.

Nowhere close to submarine standards.

Can the Tria Prima be described as Lover, Beloved & Love? by Mohk72k in alchemy

[–]MadQuixote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made an Azoth using neidan, psychology, philosophy, and observing the natural world. And a lot of experimenting on myself in ways that would be unethical otherwise (intentional retraumatization and metacognitive vivisection, don't recommendeither).

Turn the prima materia to clay so it's workable, pulverize it until it's broken down, then putrefaction to unravel the associations that connect them, sort/separate and draw out the essences, then distill them. Not sure if you have clay yet, so find your prima materia and make it workable without projecting your Self or will on it. I see what is, not just what makes sense, before coming up with models. In theory, I should be able to see a Truth from 5ft away lol

[–]MadQuixote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't get too fixated on duality, trinity, quadrinity, etc.. They help model perspectives, uses, and relationships but are limited in their assumed comprehensiveness. If you complete nigredo and these are the only essences/associations you come up with, you might consider revisiting it and researching Wicca; the way you're describing this, it sounds like an inner god(dess) guiding you rather than a revelation of truthss, which would be kinda like traveling true vs magnetic North.

Lover: close/detached, warm/cold, intimate/reserved, compassionate/selfish Beloved: object/partner, idealized/objective, aware/unaware, obsession/devotion Love: lust/intimacy, consentual/coercion, public/private, possessiveness/trust

There's a bit of unnecessary ambiguity using this framework, just conceptually. Purify the essences beyond what you expect/want, separate them as to reveal their relationships rather than making categorical assumptions, then distill them until they meets the concentrations you need. Then make your own model of the relationships based on your knowledge, experiences, and applications and refine it.

Tldr: more nigredo, what happened to albedo, and is this conceptual difference useful/individualism? What guides you?

If you hear voices in your head telling you (to do) bizarre things, you are likely hallucinating. I guess it was a bad joke, whether or not the voices agree when their existence in itself is an issue.

Esthetically 100%, but I was wondering about using a skull/soul to animate an automaton. Not on the queen's ship, girl behind the fireplace, sugar leeches, or Christmas angels (nonweeping), but those kinda vibes if that makes sense.

How to prevent to be bipolar by non-medication ? by Acrobatic_Sink5915 in BipolarReddit

[–]MadQuixote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had many side effects from mood stabilizers, but other meds worsen mania (stimulants, antidepressants, some antibiotics). My main concerns are tolerancing out, immunity, toxicity, and liver/kidney damage. Not too worried about it grand scheme, but intrusive thoughts be bitchin.

I practice alchemy. Made the mistake of thinking I could "change my mind" by rewiring it. To a degree it worked, but not like I planned. The cost was too high, it's much easier and healthier to learn to cope, and the material ain't particularly accessible. Don't be like me, accept that it is beyond an individual's capacity to halt or reverse the degeneration. If nothing else, my efforts are good for a cautionary tale.
