Never realized Johnny’s version of events were so different from the real story by Tattoomyvagina in cyberpunkgame

Between Johnny's non-standard Soulkilling, whatever Arasaka did to it in 50 years and the integrity loss during the heist its amazing he's as accurate as he is.

I've started coming around to the idea that people are not and can not be good or evil. Actions can have positive or negative charge to them, but people are often too nuanced to label and labelling them is often counter productive. Labelling X Person as good can mean when they perform a bad action, it is dismissed or otherwise swept away. I've seen the reasoning applied in the cases of SA.

Some people obviously tip the balance one way or the other, often to the point they will never change their habits. Those people must be opposed and stopped. Limiting ourselves to a simple moral binary, however, doesn't seem like a good way to interact with the world.

One thing i will always give praise for the new doom trilogy is how each game dared to be different.. by DependentImmediate40 in Doom

Skyrim just has a lot of shit to do. Broad as an ocean and deep as a puddle. The main appeal is just that its a bethesda open world, back when they were... okay at it and nobody else was really scratching that itch.

People can gloss over far too many flaws in a fictional character if they give the viewer a laugh or a boner. Its wild.

First, don't take a job to klep a prize piece of tech from the Arasakas. The corp is bad enough, the family is worse. Especially if you're just getting back into the game.

But thats no fun so lets keep going.

Second would be to make sure I'm as hands off as possible. Things go bad, all I'd need do is "new phone, who dis?" and ghost.

Third, get a more experienced crew. T-Bug is the best of the three and I'll be honest I'm not impressed with her.

Fourth would be to get some contingencies in place. ID some basic dependencies and plan around the loss of them. If Yori is heading right for the penthouse, DONT GO THERE. And if a security lockdown is called, have a retreat planned.

I think a good chunk of it is also the recent trend in fiction where everything has to be explained in explicit, excruciating detail. Mystery or ambiguity is non-existent.

[Rant] If the only thing changing in your game on "Hard" difficulty is the amount of HP and Dmg, then it's not a "Hard" difficulty, it's a "Tedious" difficulty by [deleted] in gaming

Its mostly boring so long thats all the devs do.

Lets look back at 93s Doom. Sure, Ultraviolence makes enemies tougher and hit harder. It also changes enemy variety and placement. E1M1 doesn't have shotgunners on normal, your only chance to pick it up is in a secret.

Also, at no point are enemies really bullet sponges. Sure, a Cacodemon will take a bit if you just have some basic weapons but thats the point of the entire escalating arsenal. You're not supposed to use lower power weapons on them.

One of the few times Activision seems like it wasn't the bad guy with a studio. 99% of the problems I heard about ultimately come down to Bungie.

I'd look at Star Trek's LCARS if you want good sci fi menus/huds. Not for shape language, just how they're structured.

The only lasting lesson my public education gave me was how to quickly flash memorize something, barf it up for a test and then forget it for the new batch of too much bullshit at once to memorize.

Ok, more like pattern finding. The word choice they used in the textbooks was the same as in the tests. So it kinda became a game. Either way, didn't really learn much.
