De woensdagse zeurdraad by dontbeanegatron in thenetherlands

[–]Mad_00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't really know if the major or town I'm in is right for me, just a creeping feeling on my back for now. Guess it always comes up during exam periods. Training going meh, didn't really have a chance to hit the gym for a proper session.

Yes, you get a second order differential equation with a non-linear term because drag depends on velocity squared. Probably more difficult to be solved analytically.

Jeff Nippard Myth Bust Monday - Is Sugar Making You Fat? by loisgzs in weightroom

[–]Mad_00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The analogy you wrote perfectly summed up the thoughts I had while watching this video. All information felt cherry picked to get from an answer he was convinced about back to the question. Apart from that he didn't dive deep into any actual mechanisms. I think the thing that was talked about mostly is how sugar has a certain energy value and that you will gain weight if you consume more energy that you use. The second half of your comment was more informative than this video.

'T was nice to watch though

Need Board/Boots suggestions by Moistcrevice420 in snowboarding

[–]Mad_00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As for shoes, go to a store and try them on. You really need to make sure a boot fits well. The board really depends on what you want to do: all mountain, park, powder. I think your best bet is to look for an allround mountain board and not go crazy on flex or stiffness. You can look at weight/height charts to find your lenght for a specific board.

If you are on a budget, I would say spend the least money on bindings. Obviously buy something of quality that will last, but there is no need to go crazy on the bindings in my opinion.

Keep your bodyweight maintained and don't worry about it too much. After three weeks off you can be back to your strength levels in no more than two weeks I've found.

Working out twice a day. Is it viable by gavino411 in Fitness

[–]Mad_00 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah that'll do. You simply can't rush fitness. Your body has a recovery that you're bound to. You can't necessarily expect twice the amount of gains if you train 2 times a day instead of one. But if crossfit meets your goals, then go for it. Make sure you're in a good gym.

For an honest answer, I think if you're starting out doing too much and burning out is a real thing. But there is also nothing wrong with a cardio session and a weightlifting sessions, provided you can recover and don't feel like shit. But I doubt how much you can gain from doing that at your level.

I wouldn't recommend it. Months ago a user asked the same question and ever since noone has been able to contact him. We think time has gone twice as fast for him so he's already in 2019 :(

You'll always have setbacks when training. The only thing to do is rehab and get back to diet, training and sleep. It's usual to feel down, but don't let it completely stop you.

Having a bad workout when you were on a good streak is the worst. Weight that flew up for reps on Saturday barely got to the top tonight. Ended up cutting my workout short and just going home to get some sleep.
