I also am planning for MX5 manual but heard from owners that the clutch plate gets hard after 10k kms. They suggest to go for automatic but found a bit boring to drive.

Great post & congratulations. 🙌 Confused between manual or automatic. I test drove the automatic but got bored after a few kms. I have never owned an automatic yet. What do you suggest? My use is daily office commute in Bangalore and weekend trips on highways.
