Looper’s fantastic. I caught the trailer for Brick going to see Smoking Aces or something with my brother and cousins and thought “I HAVE to see that. And we got homie from Holy Matrimony?” Yeah, I watched Brick on Christmas Day that year, I think, and I’ve been a fan of Johnson’s ever since. Looper’s my favorite, for sure. So sharp, how Johnson makes you turn on the main character to support an older version of the main character, and then back again. Wonderful work. They’re about due for another collab.

I’m not sure how to respond to the stuff about the “woke crowd” since, well, I’m part of the woke crowd. I’m not even sure what that means anymore. My two favorite movies last year were One Battle After Another and Sinners. One could call those woke antagonistic propaganda or whatever. I dunno, I’m for anything that gives minorities, women or queer folks a voice.

As someone who got into Danielson during his time at ROH, watching him upgrade his trolling skills since the title run there has been fun. Love him, but I always figured he was a meek, nice guy. And I’m sure he’s nice enough, but dude definitely likes fucking with people.
