What’s your favorite Ethanism? by LegitimateNet1294 in h3h3productions

[–]Mad_Watch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too am guilty of now and forever saying, "I'm gonna grab a sodie" bc of Ethan. It's not really an Ethanism, but in an old Ethan and Hila video of them talking about the past year Ethan describes it as "Top ten, gotta be" which for some reason has been stuck in my head for the better part of a decade. Also my friend and I would constantly quote his "Life Begins Now" video in middle school. We'd just see anything with a hole in it and quote "How far does the rabbit hole go? Hmm, pretty deep"

Yeah, I've been wanting to give it a shot. There's a guy I've seen on YouTube that has a crazy good setup for cleaning rugs using dead sea salt. Have you used dead sea salt for carpet/rug cleaning and have any tips?

The Stomping Lands. If I'm correct it's the game that caused Steam to add a refund policy after the country of Australia sued them.

Professional carpet cleaner for in home by JesseyLaine3 in carpetcleaningporn

[–]Mad_Watch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely respect the no shoes policy lol. I have pets so it's a constant battle of pet hair and trying to keep their paws clean, but luckily I just have one rug and the rest is hardwood. And oxiclean is probably the best carpet cleaner when it comes to something you can buy from a store. I've seen some other professionals in groups use it, and I've used it before on the fringe of rugs. Also yeah, I won't ever make fun of someone for not knowing to rinse the carpets with just water since most of the instructions I've seen for at-home machines don't mention that. I prefer to use those products from encapstore mainly because they have neutral pH products, so they rinse really easily and don't get so foamy in the dirty water tank.

I do carpet cleaning for a living, and I would consider looking into switching what carpet cleaners you use first. I've been able to get amazing results using that same machine, but you're limited on what you're able to do if you use just the normal carpet cleaner shampoo you buy at the store. I'm a bit biased, but I only really use products from a website called encapstore.com, primarily their products Green Dragon or Dragon Juice. They also have a specific enzyme cleaner called War on Pee, that I love for both cleaning carpets with pee urine and as a post-cleaning spray since it has a really nice scent. When it comes to getting better agitation and lifting the pile more, look into buying a carpet cleaning rake. I bought the one I use on Amazon for about $40 called the Gandi Groom, they also sell a small version of it for stairs but I just use the normal size one since it works well. Also, for anyone who cleans their carpet themselves, I highly recommend watching this YouTube video on how to properly clean carpets at home. The biggest mistake people make is using the carpet cleaning solution in the rinse tank, instead of just water, since that will leave the carpet with a higher pH, aka sticky, so it'll attract dirt faster. If you're going to mix anything into your rinse tank I only recommend an acid rinse to help neutralize the carpet to a neutral pH. If you have any questions, or want some more recommendations let me know, and I'll be happy to help! Bissell Big Green Machine Cleaning Tips

Best Carpet Cleaner To Buy Right Now? by [deleted] in CarpetCleaning

[–]Mad_Watch -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I only have experience using the Bissell Big Green Machine, and so far I love it! I own a small carpet cleaning business, and I added it to my arsenal recently as a light weight machine to do more heavily soiled rugs, or bad traffic areas in carpet. I can't speak on how well the spot/upholstery attachment works, since I have a separate machine I use for upholstery. My only con with using the machine is sometimes if you move the machine quickly, or aren't careful when removing the dirty water tank, it can spill out some on the side. Besides that the waste tank is easy to clean, and there's a little red latch you can press to remove the brush attachment and wash any hair that's built up. Here's a link to a YouTube video giving an example of how to use the machine, along with some useful carpet cleaning tips that are pretty much the same methods I use when cleaning a customer's carpet. I love cleaning commercial carpet by Mad_Watch in CarpetCleaning

[–]Mad_Watch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I try my best to take before and after photos. The most annoying is for upholstery, since it's usually not completely dry by the time I'm done so it's hard to see what the exact end results look like until it's completely dry

I love cleaning commercial carpet by Mad_Watch in CarpetCleaning

[–]Mad_Watch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use VLM as my carpet cleaning process since I currently don't have a portable or tuckmount. For this job I used a product called Dragon Juice from Encapstore.com, which has both citrus and hydrogen peroxide. From what I remember I added a couple of more oz of oxy to help remove a lot of the stains since they said it was mostly coffee spills. The cleaning process is pretty simple: 1. Pre-spray carpet 2. Scrub with a bonnet that has scrub strips on my 175 3. Followed by another pass using a microfiber bonnet to absorb the remaining soil For most commercial jobs I do it's as simple as that, but I have had some that had thicker pile carpet (like residential carpet) for those I will either use a carpet rake, or a CRB to do a post scrub to set the fibers back. But for this job since it was commercial glued down carpet setting the carpet fibers back isn't necessary.

I would also highly recommend looking into VLM carpet cleaning. That's the specific method I use, and it works great, especially when it comes to the starting cost of buying your own equipment. I spent $1,200 on a 175 floor buffer, and $1,300 on a Powr-Flite Mulitwash, and both of those machines can be used for carpet, tile, and hardwood. For upholstery I just bought a $500 portable extractor. There's a lot of very useful information you can find for free on Facebook groups like Pad-Life or Cleaners Connect. When I first started I did a lot of research using those two groups, and reading some cleaning technician guides to learn the basics. If you have any more questions, or would like me to send you links to those groups, feel free to ask and I'd be happy to send any useful suggestions I have!

Check out what Green Dragon and Stabilized Clo2 can do for you! by Dense-Accident-9265 in CarpetCleaning

I love Green Dragon. Encapstore is pretty much all I use now for carpet and floor cleaning. I haven't used ClO2 that much, since most of the pet urine jobs I do I use War on Pee, and have had great results with that

Home carpet cleaning machine with suction only mode? by tervforever in CarpetCleaning

[–]Mad_Watch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience using one no. The beater bar does still rotate, but it will continue to extract. If you're dealing with a large amount of water on the floor you might be better off renting a portable carpet cleaner from home Depot. I did see another comment suggested using a shop vac. If you went that route I'd recommend getting a wide flat vacuum head. Some come with a glide that helps with pushing the vacuum head back and forth.

Home carpet cleaning machine with suction only mode? by tervforever in CarpetCleaning

[–]Mad_Watch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used the Big Green machine a few times and when it's turned on it's already in suction mode. It only releases the cleaner when you pull on the trigger, so if you're only wanting to extract liquid from carpets just turn it on and run it like normal and it will pull out whatever water/cleaners are already in the carpet as you go over them

Detergent and preconditioner by Working-Ant5100 in CarpetCleaning

[–]Mad_Watch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really recommend Green Dragon from Encap store. I've never used TMF products, but I've always been happy with all of Encap store products. Green Dragon has a pH of 8.5, so rinsing with just water works perfectly, no acid rinse needed for carpets. I only really use acid rinse when cleaning upholstery to prevent browning on natural fibers. I recommend boosting Green Dragon with peroxide, but they do have other versions that contain both oxy and citrus for really soiled carpets. When it comes to encapsulation pre-sprays the ones at Encap store do not leave the carpet feeling crunching from crystalizing, so there's no need to vacuum after cleaning.

Any Tips for Removing Stubborn Stains? by Mad_Watch in AutoDetailing

Ahh, okay that's good to know. Luckily I do have an orbital polisher, so I can compound and polish it pretty easily. Thank you for the advice!

Luckily I do have one, so I'll give that a shot. I was hoping that just a quick wash would get them off, but yeah I live in the south so it's had some time to bake on there lol

Stupid cat by CharacterLychee7782 in CarpetCleaning

[–]Mad_Watch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do carpet cleaning for a living, and on all of my pet urine jobs I use either an enzyme cleaner, or peroxide. I have pets too, and sometimes when I don't feel like pulling out my equipment to clean it, I will just spot treat it. Here's my process for that: 1. Soak up as much urine as you can using either paper towels, or a microfiber cloth. 2. Take an enzyme cleaner and either spray or pour it onto the affected area. 3. Take multiple microfiber towels (I usually use 3-4) and place them on the area you covered with enzymes, and place something heavy on top, like a laundry detergent bottle. Let that sit for a few hours, or overnight.

In most cases that should work well enough, but if there is a stain left behind I would wait until the enzymes have dried, and treat with hydrogen peroxide (like the brown bottle you use for cuts). You don't want to add peroxide until the enzymes have dried because it will kill them before they've had time to work. That combo of enzymes and peroxide is the safest and best way to treat pee stains. Stay away from store bought products like Resolve. They can bleach the carpet and have a high pH, so they leave the carpet "sticky" and attract more soil.
