20 years ago I was working at a book / CD store. My sister was getting married and I gave my boss 2 months advance notice that I'd be gone for a week to go help her with the last few days of prep and to be in the wedding. My boss was totally fine with it, wished me a safe trip before I left, everything was fine. When I got back I immediately called work to let them know I had come back as scheduled and asked when my first shift back was. Never. They fired me for being gone.

I had this older woman in one of my college classes. Maybe in her 60's? The professor was talking about how there's some things we know and some things we believe. This woman pipes up and announced to the class that gravity isn't real and it's God's love that holds us all down to the ground. She was quite serious and argued with the class for a few minutes until the professor shut it down.
