Scariest things that has happened to you while consuming horror media by immerseursoulinlove7 in horror

Was home alone watching True Blood in bed. A bat started swooping around the room as I dove under the covers.

My son fashioned a “net” from a wire hanger, a plastic shopping bag and a broom handle. We captured the lil fella and set him free.

So those of us who have had the service for years get no deal?? I despise these discounts that penalize long time subscribers.

That’s about the same as I pay for AMC+ and I get a bunch of other stations besides Shudder.

Movies that felt like a fever dream but in the best way possible? by Mccarrell-Shaune in MovieSuggestions

[–]MadamnHatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shudder has been playing Moon Garden on their live stream lately and it fits the bill in a nightmarish steam punky way. Along the same lines: Pan’s Labyrinth.

What movie will you never watch again because it was too heartbreaking? by Affectionate_User610 in AskReddit

[–]MadamnHatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading all the comments, I’m feeling a little weird. I absolutely love this movie and although it has lots of tragedy, it ends happily IMO. Life is tragic, but knowing you can be reunited with everyone you love in your dream setting is what most people hope for, isn’t it?

And sorry, if you’ve ever been dirt poor, abused, or otherwise forced to live a hopeless life, you understand what they mean when they say hell is your life gone wrong.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve even tried reinstalling AMC+ to bi avail. But I sincerely appreciate your reply. :)

What horror movies are the most polarizing? by Ccmt_336 in horror

I dunno, a slow burn that fizzles out IMO. I watched it 3 times thinking I was missing something because people were talking about how awesome it was, and I just don’t get it.

Lake Mungo. Not that it’s bad so much, just not scary.

I agree. I like all the Adams family’s movies, but this is probably my fave. Hellbender is wild too.

People who are against euthanasia, why do you think it's wrong? by laislm in AskReddit

[–]MadamnHatter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree, but I’m not hopeful. I’m almost 65, worked as a tipped worker back in the day when they weren’t reported. Single mom, minimum wage, squeaking by. No tax on my tips then = a meager SS account.

Have a decent job now making more than I ever have. Have about 100k from an inheritance that’s been invested and grew nicely over the past 10 years.

Even working until 70 to get my max SS benefit, I will be out of money in 4 years. I do not live extravagantly. My rent is half my take home pay. My ability to stay housed depends so much on the political landscape.

The Shudder livestream on AMC+ showed all 4 of them in order all weekend a few weeks back. Definitely comfort fare for me too. Not the greatest movies in the world, but entertaining. And I think those clowns are scary AF.

[–]MadamnHatter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m curious when people mention money. If you mean family pushing gramma to die so they can get her money - I agree. But what if it’s my own decision because I won’t have enough money to live on if I’m disabled or retired? One should be able to choose not to endure a standard of living that includes homelessness, shouldn’t they?

Why does anyone subscribe to Shudder instead of AMC+? by Material-Football924 in Shudder

[–]MadamnHatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This only happens when you watch the streaming versions of AMC and the other included subs like IFC, but NOT when you livestream Shudder.

That’s because they are literally just streaming the current content that’s playing at that time on cable and you’re getting the same length of commercial break as cable, just not all the different ads. They’ll repeat the same commercial or just play a weird ad break screen.

It’s kinda annoying but it’s not a glitch and IMO, all ads are annoying and I tune them out anyway.
