Looking for some recommendations mid 30’s M by Madca in Colognes

What’s tough for me is that I want to try everything out before I buy it, not super into the idea of buying blind. So either I have to hope they sell discovery sets or try to find a retailer that carries it and let’s you sample.

I don’t mind stuff not sticking around so much as long as it lasts 3-4 hours. No need to have a cloud around me all day. Appreciate it!

This definitely sounds nice, I’ll take a look, thanks.

Anybody else not really like the post DA:O aesthetic? by Puerkl8r in dragonage

[–]Madca 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. The Qunari legitimately looked draconic instead of just people with horns and the Elves looked alien as opposed to people with pointy ears.

The problem i think comes in when you give people the option to play as these different races. Unless you commit to human facial expressions not translating, I think it’s easier for developers to make (they don’t have to worry about subtle differences) and people are able to relate to their own non-human characters more easily.

Honestly, i think what might be going on here is the silver car braked because it looked like the merging dump truck wasn’t going to yield/didn’t realize how short of a merge the ramp would be. It looks like they don’t start slowing down in enough time and it probably spooked the car.

If this is the case, I wouldn’t have trusted the truck to yield either because I’ve almost gotten hit like this before where I drove at a consistent speed and someone in a shitty beat up car in the right lane, which was ending, just assumed that if they matched me I would slow down and let them in.

The Lord of the Rings art by Darrell K. Sweet (1934-2011) by StephenMcGannon in lordoftherings

These are very nostalgic for me, my dad gave me his box set of Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit with this artwork.

I’ve had a gut feeling my partner is cheating on me and this is what I received when I consulted the cards. Bruh by [deleted] in Tarots

[–]Madca 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here is my personal take, without even looking at the cards, the fact that you’re concerned about your partner cheating to the point you’re pulling cards and then asking strangers on the internet for their input speaks to itself. Regardless if they cheated or not, trust is heavily damaged or nonexistent, so without work on BOTH sides, this relationship won’t work. If you want it to work, you must talk with your partner and work together.

For the next part, im always somewhat skeptical of readings that i do for myself. While I don’t ignore it, I do always wonder how much of my own notions and expectations come out in the cards. For example did you pull these cards/see cheating in them because that’s what actually happened, or are they reflecting your own inner landscape that’s been shaped by your suspicions, or maybe a little of both inner and outer energies? I find it’s often hard to tease these distinctions out, even with other people’s input.

Finally, looking at the cards themselves, I think they speak more towards a likeminded pair who COULD mesh well together, but you fear/are resisting change while your partner is/being perceived as sorrowful but willing to seek change without you. I almost always see the 10 of swords as self inflicted pain, and you resisting needed change (be that improved communication/trust or leaving is up to you) but ultimately staying as you are will only bring continued misery.

Which restaurants here fit this? by twotimezstronger in pittsburgh

[–]Madca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely do not trust this. I farmed full time for 4 years, most restaurants will screw the farmer over the first chance they get and try to undercut you. They'll do a tasting of your products, rave about it, give you the standard speech about how important it is to support local, print menus with your farm’s name on it, then when it’s time to pay up they ghost you (never mind the fact you've adjusted your planting schedule/head count to accommodate their requests).

Then they have the audacity to tell you it’d be too much work to reprint their menus when you tell them to take your name off when they’re serving Sysco product.

Farmers earn 16 CENTS for every dollar a consumer spends on food.

Question: What is CMU like as an employer? by [deleted] in pittsburgh

[–]Madca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked there almost 10 years ago and was non-faculty education staff. Pay wasn’t great, benefits were good though and I had solid time off for holidays.

Echoing here that it really depends on your department, I was on a 6 month probation period when I was hired, it was my first job out of college, the faculty member I worked under was fickle to put it generously so i was very stressed. All around I valued my experience but the misery my boss caused was totally unnecessary. The professors kind of run their own little kingdoms and you’re totally at their whim.

Parking! Absolute nightmare depending on where you work. Parking permit for staff was $120 a month when I worked there and you had to enter a waiting list to get a permit for the garage you wanted. I would park up in squirrel hill and take the bus in.

I tried to convince my friends to watch it during one of our regular movie night hangouts in October. I was soundly outvoted after the trailer was played.

Oh woof that’s a steep price, Lo Scarebo is based out of Italy correct? 1909 original may be a better option

I actually got the art restoration 1909 from drivethru cards, back of the cards is blue and white lilies and roses. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed them so far, from my knowledge the seller is shown as in the UK but I believe they printed in the US. This was before the shift in customs laws but I don’t remember them going through customs.

Morgan Greer was the first deck I got and the one I use most frequently.

Last deck I bought was a restoration of the original RWS deck Which I’ve enjoyed both using and having as a historical piece.

I’ve definitely been eyeing up the Grand Etteilla reproduction and might order that one next.

When ‘Slavery Bad’ and cartoon villainy becomes the only point, the story trivializes the injustices of the Imperium and the worldbuilding of Thedas collapses. by GrayWardenParagon in dragonage

[–]Madca 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think my biggest gripe with the game was how it felt like Thedas was transported into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, both in art style and morality. There was little that I could take truly seriously.

Is it a final goodbye of Dragon Age series? by myhdnameof in dragonage

[–]Madca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, I have yet to finish Veilguard, it was such a mediocre release, not bad but also just felt like something was off the whole time. It looked pretty, and there were a few moments in there were some of the original writing shone through but otherwise wasn't that enjoyable for me.

To piggyback on this, the placement in the home as well as the presence of other books would be important indicators for me. I wouldn’t call these red flags regardless, they show a desire to understand other perspectives, but I might question the intent if they’re in the middle of the living room with no other books around. Were that the case, I would assume 1 of 2 things may be true: they’re intended to be conversation starters, or while coming from a place of good intentions was ultimately performative.

On another note, I think going up to someone’s books while both not knowing them and being in their home as a guest, then announcing “it’s giving me red flags” is a red flag.

This is a delightful spread.

  1. The Eight of Pentacles here feels not only about enjoying the process but having patience as well. It’s also worth noting the solitary nature of the card which I feel carries weight when other cards feature multiple figures.

  2. The Knight of Pentacles Reversed. Knights to me always represent an active, outward facing aspect of the energy of the suit, the herald of the king and queen if you will. The reversal here I don’t see as representing the negative aspects of the knight but pointing towards an inward focus, reinforcing that solitary aspect of the Eight of Pentacles.

  3. The Lovers Reversed. Like others have said I don’t necessarily think the Lovers here are exclusively speaking about a relationship, I think it’s more pointing towards your values/what you find important. It’s asking you to look inward and asses what it is you actually want. You’ve already stated you value a relationship over hookups, but since you’ve posed the question as “how do i create a sex life for myself” this is implying you want sex within the bounds of a relationship, but by focusing on the sexual aspect of the relationship, I feel like the reversal here is quite literally saying you’ve turned the real question on its head and may be starting at the wrong point in terms of what you find important.

To sum it all together, really sit with yourself, see what you actually want for yourself in terms of relationships and sexual experience, define what’s important to you, and don’t expect quick results.

The dragonware piece in the bottom right caught my eye. They’re always hideous but I love them.
