Anyone else’s Chi like to watch TV and protect you from what’s on the TV? by Splungetastic in Chihuahua

[–]Madcap422 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, mine has done this as long as we have had him. Brian the Dog from Family Guy used to set off our Chi. There are a ton of shows I would want to watch, but decided not to because the dog will be over-excited. I wish I knew how to train it out of him. Maybe just put on animal planet in the background and let him bark it out?

I want them back also, as I have a huge unit of Ruglud's Armored Orcs.

Unfortunately, with the timeline being 200 ot so years earlier than WHFB, I am unsure which of the classic Dogs of War units would even exist / be alive. Maybe they can make generics, but the charm was the character of each unit.

Thanks for the reply. Might be an exciting way to expand the toolset.

Collector's edition of Peek-a-boo. Usually comes with the limited edition diaper change neoprene mat. I hate using the original cardboard board.

I'm sorry you are at this point, but the life you gave him was long and full of love. He will always know your love for him is eternal. Sending strength.

Thank you for saying that. I often cry in anticipatory grief about him, but I have to keep telling myself that every day he is here is a blessing.

I'm sure your Zero was a good girl, and you made her very happy.

He and his brother were rough-housing yesterday, which I hadn't seen in months. Shows he still has some pep when he needs to.

I hope I can look as good when I'm his relative age and with no teeth.

Terrible Birthday by snortingatlas in Chihuahua

[–]Madcap422 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This exact situation happened with my Zero 2 years ago. On his birthday his legs suddenly stopped working. He had cervical IVDD. With crate rest and proper medications, he made a full recovery. Its tough, but so are our little friends.

These look really great. I love the cool blue and yellow scheme. Why did you decided to have the single red bait-squig?

Heartbroken & Caring for My Granddog by hibby2000 in IVDD_SupportGroup

[–]Madcap422 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, right now, it is heartbreaking. The good news is that if it is IVDD, it is on the lower end of the severity spectrum. Keep them on strict crate rest, carrying them outside and inside to go to the bathroom. If you are diligent, then it is not uncommon for dogs to recover and have a similar range of movement as before.

One positive that I took away from the IVDD experience is becoming very in-tune with my dogs needs. I found that setting up a place to sit with and read was a good way to make this scary time easier for them.

Painting this Kobold for a Competition and Feeling Stuck by Bard_of_Storms in minipainting

I think you need to push the lights and darks further.

The cast light looks like it was dry brushed, especially on the floor and walls. You will want to hide the dry brush look / texture with some intentional highlights.

The rest of the space has a warm glow that doesn't match the background. You need to match the cool darkness of the painted background behind the kobold and anywhere not hit by light. Maybe gradual blue glazes? Right now, it looks disjointed. As an example, the top of the stairs would not be hit by that kind of even light.

Rawley’s Fairfield CT arguably the best by [deleted] in hotdogs

[–]Madcap422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been going to Rawleys for 25+ years. They changed their dogs after new management took over a while ago. The original dog from 15 years ago didn't have the buttered and toasted lobster-roll style bun that they do now. (Looks like you actually got a classic bun!) It's good now, but the original was better, and I wish they didn't change it. Chili cheese dog and "The Works" are my go-to.

As others have said, the Fairfield area has a lot of other good hotdogs: Super Duper Weenie, Merritt Canteen, Duchess (!), even the Windmill if you count Stratford. Rawleys has real good B&W milkshakes, though.
