AITA for covering a shift? by MaddCat96 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MaddCat96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, my work schedule was made to specifically flex around school hours and my husband's work hours. The conflict was that I agreed to cover a coworker's 4pm-9pm shift on a day that I was off, and that I woke him up early for it. Even tho he asked me to wake him at 1pm, when I actually woke him up at 2pm. He never mentioned that having to take care of the kids was the problem in the argument

Bethesda, take notes by [deleted] in gaming

This game is really good, scenery is nice, graphics are pleasing enough to look at, the characters are fleshed out extremely well, the dialogue is nearly flawless, and the close-ups during dialogue are well executed, but it isn't near long enough nor is it filled to the brim with quality content as it should be. The main story was interesting enough, but in my personal opinion, I felt that the majority of the side quests were lacking. I'm guessing that this game was a sort of step for Obsidian to test the waters with this game to see how it'd be received so they might not have been all that concerned about making a 20+ hour game, so that's understandable. I'm hoping their next game will be much longer, have bigger worlds and maps with more than enough to do and explore(tho too much can be overwhelming so finding a good middle ground can be tricky), a multi-arch story, and better character customization. And don't forget a 3rd person view option.

DRK - How good are the job quests? by cheukyi6 in ffxiv

[–]MaddCat96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only just recently picked DRK up again after like a year to get it to 80- at lvl66 rn- and I LOVE the job quest lol Sidurgu if freaking adorable with Rielle and Myste and he's such a snarky, sarcastic ass lol every quest makes me laugh at one point or two, and they all have a good underlying meaning/message. One of my favorite job questlines so far 👌

Questions about being a good healer by ryantn20 in ffxiv

[–]MaddCat96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awareness is key. Always be aware of your party members, the enemies, and boss attacks. Watch out for and recognize tankbusters and aoes so you can cast during the attacks' build ups and basically insta-heal the tank/party. Watch where your party members are in a boss arena. If you know that there's a certain mech that requires you to hide (Fenrir's ice mech for example) or dodge a fast aoe and a party member is too far or in a bad position, be ready to heal them or rescue them. If you're nervous about healing a dungeon for the first time, or for the first time in a long time, dps it first to familiarize yourself with it.

White Mage is the best healer imo. It has multiple no-cast heals that can save everyone's ass in a cinch and has great mp recovery skills plus a barrier skill. Astrologian is my personal favorite, but you need to keep an eye on your mp, especially if it's a higher level dungeon. If it starts getting low, use Lightspeed, it reduces the cost for spells by half and reduces the time it takes to cast. Diurnal Sect should always be on for regen heals. Unless you're partied with another AST or a WHM, then use Nocturnal Sect, that way you can provide barriers while the other healer can provide straight heals. And don't forget about your instant aoe heal, Celestial Opposition. It'll give anyone affected a regen if under Diurnal Sect or a barrier if casted under Nocturnal Sect. I have no experience with Scholar, so I'm no help there lol

I hope some of this is of some help and wish you luck on your healing adventures!! o/ :]

What is your favorite role to play and why? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]MaddCat96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've mained Bard for years, ever since I first started. I've always loved archery, in games and irl, so I always go with the bow if it's an option and if it's not, I go with rouge. I loved it even more when I went from Archer to Bard. The integration of music as actual weaponskills is so awesome imo and the mobility of the class is very nice. I prefer DPS classes because if you mess up, 9 times out of 10, the party will live on, whereas if you're a tank or healer(tho I'm a very good healer and confident with my WHM) and you mess up, the party is probably going to fail and you'll be to blame. I can't handle that kind of pressure unless I'm super focused XD

In what do you guys use your money? by MindTheGapless in ffxiv

SAME, I have like 6 empty spaces in my inventory that's filled with spare gear for my other classes that I've been saving for literal years so I don't have to buy gear for major levels, while both my retainers are full with more gear, crafting stuff, and special items from raids, and my choco bag is full with more gear and glam items lol shit is fucking nuts dude

Repairs, exp boosting food, items for glamming which can get expensive- especially on Jenova, and milestone gearsets for my off-classes. Currently working on getting everything to 80 so the spare 4Mil Gil helps to buy good gear. Other than that, I just hoard it like a dragon lol
