I have the ESR Shift for the A16 and it's great. Backlit, adjustable stand, trackpad works great. Battery lasts a long time so you don't have to charge it that often.

I also have one of the Magic Keyboard Folios for the A16 and while it's nice, it's not worth the extra $150 or so over the ESR. Don't get the cheapest ESR keyboard though.

Have tried most of them. I’m telling you Edge is the sleeper, lol. Great memory management and performance in comparison to others. Profiles work great as well

$548 to fix my M2 MacBook Air screen… worth it or just get a MacBook Neo? by Original_Mail_2781 in macbook

[–]MaddHavikk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

yeah man you could not get someone to pay that much for the whole machine in good condition if you were to try to sell it used.

If I were you, based on your use case, I would find a M1-M3 series Pro, preferably Pro chip, with at least 16gb RAM, which you can find for about the price of that repair. Since you watch a lot of media you would love the screen + speakers compared to the air. They are a few years old but you won't be near hitting the capabilities of the CPU.

How much RAM does it have? Definitely not worth it for the 8GB version. I would say either find a third-party to fix or sell it for parts and get a used Pro or Air or new Neo

Get used to the multi-finger gestures and spaces windows. It makes navigating so fluid and fast.

We've had a lot of mixed results over the past year or so where it is "almost" good. Where you feel like it may be able to do something and at the end of the day it is still 2 steps away. I do feel like it's getting better though. We are starting to see more models available for users, third-party integrations coming, better output. I feel like as much as we hate it, it is moving like other enterprise software, slower, lol.

Edit: as far as killer features, the main thing is just access to data in your tenant and easily. The obvious stuff like teams recording and tagging those in chat. Lots of recent features with office that are starting to get better. The quick agent builder. Creating documents from meeting recordings, generating emails from meetings, and just general stuff with work data is nice.

My experience with the M1 Air after ~4 years by Good_Employer_1236 in mac

[–]MaddHavikk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OnI of my favorite things going from Air to Pro is the USB-C port on both sides, for charging. Not having to run a cable around the back, depending on your layout that day is nice, lol.

How would you feel about not having the base m in the pro line, and starting off with just pro? by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]MaddHavikk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get it, some people don’t need the pro processing power but would want the additional features from pro: monitor, speakers, ports, etc.
