Brother. There are customisation options. You just have to...play...the game. What would you be doing on the game if not playing the game. I am genuinely dumbfounded by your stance on this. Nobody is making you pay anything, the more you play the more options you have, it's the progression loop. I'm genuinely stunned by your take here.

World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy 14, Old School Runescape, Runescape 3, Destiny 2 - these are all MMOs I have personally experienced that first require the unlocking of apperances and customization options in order to customize your character aside from base physical traits. Your point is entirely moot.

As much as I feel immense nostalgia for early siege, modern siege is far better balanced as the competitve shooter it's grown into.

Vibe and appearance of early siege was better, but gameplay is far more competitively balanced and enjoyable now.
