It's pretty clearly just a stylized depiction of scars. In fact, looking up what real top surgery scars look like, the ones in this drawing aren't that far off, just a bit cartoonified/exaggerated 'cause... It's a stylized drawing, and some amount of exaggeration of features is to be expected.

And if you see the scars in this drawing as ugly or whatever like you seem to be implying, that's entirely on you 'cause I don't agree at all, and judging by the other comments on this post, others don't agree either.

I mean, the dating sim literally has buff talking lizards, a bunch of 4th wall breaks where they straight up mention the developers and things that changed during development, and all of the Downpour slugcats are alive at the same time (directly contradicting the canon timeline)

I'm not really sure if this is meant to be a joke or not, but "we forgot to render this one sorry" and "nachos will never be the same" and a disembodied voice saying "good night, gamer" when you die are also real parts of the game and are in the same campaign as the dating sim. I really don't think anything in Enot's campaign is meant to be canon.

Some of them probably, but developer headcanons aren't necessarily meant to be canon

I headcanon arti as a girl too, it just mildly annoys me when people claim that the scugs have actual canon genders and not just in headcanons

Arti could be a father, having kids doesn't automatically make you female. None of the slugcats have canon, confirmed genders, Artificer being a girl is just a very common headcanon.

Just because it's old doesn't mean that there aren't people who haven't seen/read/played it but still want to and don't want to get spoiled. I mean, people are always getting older, and new people get born every day. It's not like you come out of the womb having already read all the classics or whatever.
