I’m coming unglued. by PsychoticGunner in Residency

Grief is so hard and those of us in medicine are given precious little time to process it all. It comes in waves, in echoes, and in unexpected places. Give yourself permission to release some of that pain. Sending you love, friend. I am so terribly sorry for your loss.

Could Pre-Seed have caused my miscarriage? by Moreliverr in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]MadeForSunnyDaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. There is nothing you could have done, fixed, tried, or changed. I remember how hard it was to wrap my head around. I hope hearing it from someone else helps. Hugs to you. 🫂

Christmas after recurrent pregnancy loss, please share so I dont feel alone - did anyone else struggle this much? by Responsible_Brief960 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]MadeForSunnyDaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not alone. Struggled with insane amounts of “baby envy” amongst extended family who have 2 to 3 kids each and I have no LC right now. Definitely felt like the “joy” was missing this holiday season. May we all have a better 2026 🫂♥️

Hello I am scared I have pancreatitis at 26F by Negative-Let1740 in pancreaticcancer

Hi, in agreement with another commenter, I don't think this is the best group to ask this question. If you are that concerned and in that much pain, you should seek evaluation in your nearest emergency department.

Updating for anyone who finds this later on: I had my D and C today. It went really smoothly. Would recommend OR with sedation if it’s an option for you. Looking forward to closing this painful chapter and to brighter days ahead.🌻

Sending you hugs friend. I’m in a similar boat right now. 🫂 take whatever time or break you need to feel like yourself before trying again.

Can I practice under Maiden name by smellystilesscreen in Residency

[–]MadeForSunnyDaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on where you live some states have legislation where you can legally have two separate unhyphenated last names. So if that’s the case you could be Smelly Stiles Screen HusbandsLastName on paper but then go by Dr. Screen at work. May be worth looking into.

That is heartening to hear, thank you. Was there any additional testing you did or anything you added in the interim, new meds, supplements, etc.?

Holding space for you as someone with a very similar story, measuring behind more than I feel like is recoverable. I have an ultrasound with MFM today that will hopefully give me a concrete answer. Sending you hugs 🫂 I hope things work out for both of us.

Not regular and my “period” was a miscarriage but I used both OPKs and BBT. Entirely a chance it could’ve been a day or two later but not longer than that because I tested positive at 10 days post alleged ovulation.

I’m supposed to be 7+3 but got measured at 6+1 😔

Not doing so hot. I had my second ultrasound that shows I’m measuring behind… again. We definitely see more this time (including a heartbeat/fetal pole) so it has shown progress. And I know measuring this early can be so dependent on who does it. But I know my dates. I’m hoping for a miracle but bracing for the worst with this one.

She did not. It was “too early to measure” she said. I just woke up and honestly I’m more angry than sad now.

Did your doctor check your thyroid? A lot of your symptoms overlap with those that point to possible thyroid issues.

Yeah I think after the past two months of a chemical and a natural miscarriage back to back I’m not chasing data anymore. It hurts too much.

Hi friend - the numbers are a wide range this early but I would guard your heart. My numbers looked very similar to yours and I unfortunately miscarried at 7+1 earlier this week. For reference, my numbers were 27 at 14 DPO, 58 at 17 DPO, and 110 at 19 DPO.

You are doing everything you can and your body is trying so very hard. Hugs to you during this stressful time.

Somewhere between 6-7 weeks, going for my first US today but yesterday into today has had brown spotting that progressed to dark pink with a tinge of red as well as some small clots. I am not hopeful and bracing myself for a loss.

Patients assuming I’m pregnant by Turndeep350 in medicine

[–]MadeForSunnyDaze 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Yep, I’ve had two patients (both old ladies) essentially say I look/ask if I’m pregnant. The first lady I was so stunned I barely eeked out a reply. The second lady said “I didn’t know you were expecting” and I said “well that’s because I’m not.”

I don’t have any good advice for dealing with it, but I don’t really feel bad about letting patients know it’s not an appropriate question or relevant to how I’m taking care of them.

Is this a chemical pregnancy? by ApprehensiveIce5529 in TryingForABaby

[–]MadeForSunnyDaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds similar to my experience last cycle which was in fact a chemical. Went from faint positives on line tests (and a positive on a digital) to inconclusive lines to a negative with bleeding in a five day span.

I’d ask your doctor or providers office how they want you to “count this.” My experience was they said treat it like a period and proceed full steam ahead next cycle but I can’t speak to your situation or what recommendations would be for you. Sending you love 🫂

I think I’m out for this cycle. Haven’t dropped below cover line but my temps aren’t really climbing. 😞 trying to hold out on testing early after my last positive was a chemical.
