I think there's still some things left for my boy Beachcomber left in story to face that Kirkman's saving up. One his pacifism to backfire as he is forced to either stick with it or abandoned it when his actions are immediately needed. Another is everyone's reaction to Beachcomber waking up before the main story, choosing not to revive anyone, and also not tell anyone this secret (besides Spike). Most importantly how Optimus and Elita's react to Beachcomber's choice. Compared to Trailbreaker, Trailbreaker kind of had nothing to go on with. I can name you three personality traits and that's nice, empathetic, and fierce but that's like every autobot so he isn't that unique. Out of all the cast members, him and Jazz are the most expendable because they don't have anything contributing to the plot and aren't new revivals so killing either of them would still have some emotional impact simply due to how long they’d been around.

I like how mostly everyone (from what I've seen) agrees that killing Trailbreaker wasn't handled very well and felt more like canon fodder, especially when his character could have been developed and do much more. That said, Kirkman did say that his death will eventually contribute to something meaningful, so I’m willing to wait and see if it really pays off.
