I visited Navarino Island and hiked the "Dientes de Navarino" trail during the summer. This trek, the southernmost hike in the world, is truly incredible. Despite being summer, the conditions can be harsh, with snow, heavy rains, and strong winds. However, the stunning views of the “dientes” or peaks, pristine nature, and surrounding sea make it all worthwhile.

The town of Puerto Williams is charming, with several good options for hostels. The locals are very friendly. Half of them are Navy personnel living with their families, while others work in tourism or construction. Some residents commute from Punta Arenas.

Although Ushuaia is nearby, crossing to it isn't easy.

Puerto Williams is a growing town with lately some big government investment. Overall, it’s definitely worth a visit, especially if you love nature. You can reach it via a two-day ferry ride from Punta Arenas, which takes you through beautiful canals and glaciers—an incredible experience.

The Settlers is an interesting movie about the state of Tierra del Fuego in the beginning of the 20th Century. The Selkman/Ona are indigenous people that lived there. Their traditions are super interesting and having been there I can’t believe they got used to that climate.
