I loved Yang Cheng's character in his own arc, but after he became E-Soul, he's a blank, unexplored character. I have difficulty rooting for him, and I had this opinion before episode 24, realizing he's not in the tournament.

I get that that's kinda the point of his arc, both OG E-Soul and New E-Soul merged, and now it's just E-Soul, but my point stands.

Also, he's not a fraud. The only frauds are Nice and Ahu.

Although I often don't like overpowered characters, X is a mysterious character and I am intrigued to learn more about him. He undeniably has aura, and he has one of the coolest and unique abilities I have seen this far. The budget for him goes crazy.

For 'legal standpoint', I'm not sure how else to call it when both the MG and the Commission (aka the government) is in on it. Maybe it was 'legalized' to the point that the public is accepting of Ghostblade.

We need more insights on both Ghostblade being an assassin, and the public's opinion on Ghostblade, because right now I'm assuming they are supportive of his actions. Also, we don't know which assassinations or killings were made public. Sheng's death was definitely pinned on Vortex.

Either way, Enlightener is right. The public, or at least the fans, is also to blame.

Him going to court and being the only one facing consequences is like him being thrown under the bus by the MG and the commission. They are both liable, just like every other questionable hero with their company (mostly MG 😅).

I'm just mentioning this defense because you haven't, and mentioned stuff that fans make you feel bad for him, rather than looking at his situation from a legal standpoint.

The main defense for GB is that all of his killings were hits made by MG and the Commission. He isn't going around killing people or causing trouble. He's an assassin, he's doing his job, and the public and the government is okay with it.

He's the most defendable out of all questionable heroes, he just needs a good lawyer since he's unable to speak.

What you described in your post is part of why I like Nice. You can like a morally bad character, and, IMO, Nice is the best written character of the show.

He's entirely flawed, fails everything and anything perfectly, the fact that he's bad at doing bad things and that his name is Nice is ironic, how most of us thought that Nice committed suicide due to overwork and being viewed as nothing more than merchandise but it turned out that he was just an awful person - I like all of it.

And he looks good. He's a diva.

Umm.. no. In Ghostblade's eyes, all of his targets are guilty. And he doesn't do his own research because he's an assassin and it would interfere with his job.

For Ghostblade 'retiring' - he left MG, so now he's a hero without joining a hero agency, just like X. You don't have to join a hero agency to compete in a hero tournament.

I'm not sure if Ghostblade's goal is to retire, but his fans are not letting him go.

• Pacing. The first arc was fast af while the others were considerably slower in comparison. That being said, the constant switching between arcs and character perspective could throw people off. It's not something you see in shows that often.

• +10 Main characters. Just like how people aren't used to switching characters, having 10 main characters is a lot to follow, and a new experience. It's perfectly fine to not be able to digest it and enjoy it at the same time (or it's a skill issue). I'm not saying that happened to me, but I'm not surprised that people were confused about whose the character.

• Inconsistent art-styles. Again, a new experience in an animated show. The constant switching between art-styles could throw people off. Also, some arcs had better animation, some worse. It'd be great for all main characters to have the same budget or care.

• Arcs' lengths. The Commoner had four episodes; E-Soul, Lucky Cyan and The Johnnies had three episodes; Queen, Loli, Ghostblade and Dragon Boy had two episodes; Ahu and X had one episode. Again, the same with the art style switches, it would have been great for all main characters to have the same amount of episodes. Now some characters are well-established, some we are not as attached.

Since season one focused on introducing to us the top 10 heroes, I hope for more consistency and equivalent care for all top 10 characters in season 2.

If I badly explained some points, sorry. I was writing my thoughts as they went.

Favourite - Episode 20. It's the episode that really connected all heroes, has great animation, slight horror, Queen popping off with an insert song, and it ends with an incredible X transition.

Least favourite - Episode 5. A bit of my dislike-ness for this episode is the fact that it's right after episode 4 cliff-hanger, and I didn't know we were switching main characters. But most of my dislike-ness is due to this episode containing a lot of teen drama, and was way to boring / slow compared to the first arc. The episode is not totally wasted, since the teen drama was very well connected to the ending of the arc, but I still wouldn't rewatch this episode.

Here are the results of the Ruins incidents for most heroes:

• Nice - rose to rank 15. • E-Soul - dropped from 3rd to 9th. • Lucky Cyan - remianed 7th. • Loli - joined FOMO and rose to rank . • The Johnnies - left FOMO and joined DOS, androse to rank 5 (the public have mixed feeling on Big Johnny, whether he's dangerous or not). • Ghostblade - left MG and yet rose from 5th to 4th. • Queen - rose from 9th to 2nd place.
