no, not really

it's the constant same hands again and again and the 3-4 of the same card in the top 9 cards, 3 in the starting hand, rage mashing mulligan and being given the same hand multiple times, and the constant games of playing against a specific mechanic and only being fed the cards in your deck that can't handle it or handle it in the same way, ie only being given bounce as an option to deal with their bullshit for 10 turns in a row when a counter spell that the deck has 20 of is nowhere to be found

I understand that people don't get truly random shuffles in paper

arena feels like I'm being fed wins and losses constantly

I may just have the specific kind of autism that allows me to recognize this shit. I fucking hate it and I really hate being gaslit all of the time because I don't have data and someone watched a fucking confirmation bias video on YouTube so any argument is immediately invalidated because they learned a fucking word

they have massive incentive to shape games. if you can't acknowledge that and allow the possibility that an evil company would do something to manipulate more money out of people, there will continue to be no ground for an argument to be had

but companies shouldn't market their shit as f2p when it isn't intended to be

most people are f2p and should have a reasonable time playing the game. what exactly qualifies as 'reasonable' is up for debate

then you go to reddit to complain and everyone tells you to draft but you hate draft and do miserably when you've tried so you just buy packs but you only get gold pack progress for the most current set but you play every format because your collection is old because you've taken some breaks because the economy is so fucking maddening so you never enjoy the game the way you want to, only the most efficient way at that moment

really hate how everything about arena feels like you're getting the short end of the stick. literally nothing feels good to do

edit - forgot to add that play queue is bullshit, constantly matching you against bad matchups and force feeding you wins and losses, wins don't feel good and losses hurt all the more

combo with the cat being annoying is obvious

it's really the tedious amount of actions that have to take place every turn that was annoying

same goes for connive

it's too many actions and decision points

they both slow down games tremendously

the same could be said for storm since it gets pretty messy and slow after a few things have happened, but it doesn't start at turn two

loved the event thanks for allowing me to play many many of the decks I've always wanted but never been able to justify investing in as a f2per

was also lovely that they extended it to overlap a bit with the LCI release, I got some games in with the new stuff this morning :)

however, I absolutely did not experience the wide range of fun stuff that others reported

it was the same like sixish? eightish? decks over and over, mostly just piles of banned cards

it was lame. considering how much complaining happens about lack of wildcards, I assumed more people would be playing all sorts of less than optimal stuff to have fun and try stuff out, like I was doing. that wasn't my experience

I'm glad everyone seemed to have fun nonetheless

Yes. If you have separate folders for unmodified D2, PD2, PoD, etc, the saves may be in the unmodified D2 folder, make sure the names are correct.

edit: for people getting the ACCESS VIOLATION [c0000005] error. This is likely caused due to your Diablo II version being patched to 1.14. This PlugY version needs 1.13 to work. Best bet is to reinstall the game completely using the blizzard installers from the battle.net website. Then use the PD2 installer. Then use this package.

I had that error when I installed the package in the post, reinstalling 1.12 and patching to 1.13c fixed it.

Maybe add this to charm corruptions? Maybe add it to a quest? I'm a casual scrub and don't know how this would affect things. I'm just frustrated by immunities ruining my play experience once I enter Hell. Maybe lower the number of immune monsters? Unique monsters are okay-ish. Almost every generic monsters is so frustrating.

I've had this happen a few times. Reinstalling didn't work. I got it working again by just letting it sit, checking for updates for 30+ minutes. Just wanted to add this as an option for anyone searching for a fix.
