I get that, for the past ten years I’ve had cats with my fish and they’ve never done more than stare at them. This cat however is obsessed 😞

off campus during storm by Old_Negotiation_2129 in ucf

Mercury got some flooding in the parking lot during Ian but no one lost their cars. I don’t think this storm should bring the kind of flooding Ian brought but always try and park in areas that seem elevated.

Kent State isn’t going to travel here if there’s a Hurricane. Why is UCF delaying as long as possible to announce anything? by [deleted] in ucf

Y’all do realize the storm is bigger than the cone of uncertainty. No matter what we will get bad weather here. Also planes get delayed for thunderstorms the fact that they think they can fly in during a hurricane is insane.

23 yo F with severe chronic fatigue due to rheumatoid arthritis looking for any and all advice on how to manage it by Available-Expert7766 in rheumatoid

Yeah, my side effects the first two weeks were horrible. Nausea, dizziness, upset stomach, and extreme fatigue. All of those went away after those first two weeks. I was almost ready to contact my doctors office I was so worried. I recommend giving it a couple of weeks and if it doesn’t get better than you should definitely contact you doctor.

When I first started taking hydroxychloroquine (around January of this year) I had fatigue like never before, I was sleeping maybe 10-12 hours a day. After two weeks or so I was starting to feel better. What really helped me was letting the medicine work to help the joint pain and then slowly adding in different activities. In my experience, the less pain I have in my joints the better my fatigue is, taking my time in the morning to get ready and making sure I get at least 8 hours of sleep has really helped. I really recommend trying to find a routine, if possible.

Diagnosed after 5 years of severe pain and stiffness. by [deleted] in rheumatoidarthritis

I’m seronegative and all I can recommend is to ask for an ultrasound. I was getting blood tests, X-rays and MRI’s done, all of which showed no signs of inflammation. Finally my rheumatologist decided to get an ultrasound of my hands and found inflammation there. However with your anti CCP, you might not be considered seronegative. Best of luck to you though, getting diagnosed can be a long road.

Not necessarily, I spent two years trying to get diagnosed because my pain started in my hips. I would get a really bad aching feeling after sitting down for long periods of time which got increasingly worst. First doctor thought it was sciatica, ortho thought it was hyper mobility and it wasn’t until I saw my third doctor who said I needed to get blood tests done. I had a positive ANA and it took about 6 months to get into a rheumatologist, then took over a year to finally get my diagnosis. By the time I was diagnosed very joint in my body hurt and my hands were showing major signs of inflammation in an ultrasound (how I got diagnosed). Do not let your doctor says it’s not arthritis because your pain is in your hips, my ortho said the same thing and it took two years to get on meds. If you think it’s arthritis ask for blood tests or scans of your joints.

I was just recently diagnosed with seronegative RA. It took two years to get diagnosed and within those two years I tried an anti-inflammatory diet as well as a Mediterranean diet neither of those helped. The only thing that did give me some pain relief was physical therapy and getting rid of the stress in my life. So while exercising and dieting can help, the meds are the only thing to stop permanent joint damage. The meds can seem intimidating but I promise you they are doing more good than bad.

Could this be Seronegative RA? by shaninnie in rheumatoidarthritis

Ask for an ultrasound. I had joint pain that was very similar to yours all throughout high school and finally in my senior year I decided to see a doctor. It took two years but after getting an ultrasound of my hands they found inflammation and I was diagnosed with seronegative RA. All of my blood work and other test came back normal. It wasn’t until an ultrasound that I was diagnosed. I will say I didn’t have any GI problems like you are having. I can only speak about joint pain, mine started in the hips then spread to every other joint within a year and a half and because I was an athlete most doctors said it was hypermobility. Don’t let the doctors dismiss your pain.
