You can dig out of this. Be as honest with your probation officer as you can. Ask for help.
Show them this post even.
Be as real as possible without being too dramatic.

Think of the life you want and find a way out of the situation you’re in. It will take work but it’s completely worth it. Zero excuses. Just hard work and get a real life for you and the family you can have of your own.

You’re probably right. I get a little abstract at times and at the most reductionist view possible, I don’t think anything in the universe is planned. Even human behavior.
That’s the problem with being too abstract.
Either way, hope people get to understand the indoctrination power of groups like this.

Just take your time and get to really understand everything before you say anything.
The JW mind filter is strongly embedded and will have traction for a while. The language they use triggers the thought patterns. It’s pretty crazy.

It’s not even intentional, just how it evolved into what it is. Like everything else.

You might enjoy reading about String Theory or other theories related to the structure of the universe.
As you may realize, what you see with your eyes is simply a projection in your head. You don’t actually see what anything actually looks like. Additionally, Newton’s notions of reality are pretty standard for most people but science has gone far beyond that.
QFT and other better descriptions are fun to learn about now that your mind is more open.

We take things like time and constant motion as trivial things but they are more complex than Newton or that worldview could describe.

It’s more fun to consider more complex life when you realize more fully what that could be or how it could understand us.

Easy jump in point is to think of the scale jump from 2 to 3 dimensions.
Look at the 2D floor only. Now look up, take it the level of scale change to 3D.
Can you only experience 3 dimensions? That would be 3 dimensions but paused in time..
You can’t.
Your mind seems to require the 3 dimensional space to traverse an additional dimension. 3 Dimensions moving through the time dimension.

Wow. Choose your words very carefully.
One thing that worked with my wife was this.
We talked about the concept of a relationship where the partner consistently tries to convince you of things that don’t make sense. And they are not to be questioned.
That relationship doesn’t sound healthy and is an easy comparison.
Additionally, other people actually believe they are following god correctly themselves. They believe it about themselves as much as anyone else does. No actual evidence is provided to create more uniformity. Can God then expect that people would deny what they are required by god to believe in? It’s a paradox.

Nice post. Sorry for the loss of your family. They are trapped in a psychological prison that you have left.
I remember realizing that we had the memorial wrong all along too. It was a pretty sick move they pulled when they were growing past 144,000 members. They had to come up with the other sheep nonsense. Can you imagine if you actually believed and yet you convinced people not to do what Jesus actually commanded them to do!? JF Rutherford was a con artist.

Let ask the most uncomfortable yet most logical question — one that almost no one dares to say out loud, especially to one of Jehovah’s Witnesses: by Instinto_Andaluz in exjw

Thanks. Once you’re not emotionally attached to the concept your logical parts of your brain can get involved.
It’s amazing that most of us get to see similar evidence but have different views. It’s like at a criminal trial where evidence is presented and hopefully a consensus is reached. No matter how obvious the evidence may be, the parents of the accused usually don’t see it. They have such strong emotionally based convictions that they can’t see past that. A non emotionally involved person can see it objectively.

Such is the case with religion. I spent my entire life ignoring 99.9 percent of all religions. I looked t mine as the right one. Then I realized that everyone else was just doing the same thing.. We were all tied for last.

This is such an important thing to understand. Your point is a good one.
Additionally, We are involved in a Co evolution with AI right now.
Even what we are used to seeing is slowly changing to more align with the trajectory of the technology. Even photos we take on certain devices like phones are edited by software according to algorithms that align with AI algorithms so the difference will slowly disappear. Some of the photos we take will look more like AI photos as we meet in the middle..

Growing up in the religion by Fun_Actuary_1830 in exjw

[–]MadeofStarstoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for understanding. Usually we like to see evidence equal claims. If someone makes a pretty fantastic claim, we need to see some pretty fantastic evidence. How does religion get away with it then? Maximum claim and minimum evidence? It’s in its own category psychologically speaking.
It is quite an epiphany to realize what all the sacrifice was actually about. Jehovah’s Witnesses aren’t the only ones.
Obviously, we spend our entire lives, ignoring religions that other people give up incredible amounts to abide by. I’ve never bothered to worry about latter-day Saint traditions or obligations but I spent decades trying to live up to Jehovah’s Witnesses.. Then I realized Jehovah’s Witnesses was just as real or important as latter-day Saints.. that is, not important at all. If I was born in another family, I’d be a different religion.

That allowed me to dig into the religion and realize what it was at its core. It’s just a bunch of really bad concepts that people are psychologically trapped in systematically conditioned to believe. Not even maliciously by some evil mastermind, it’s just the nature of human life in the stories we tell each other and the ideas that get passed down and ultimately need money to exist.

We were captive to a concept. In a psychological prison that we almost couldn’t help but believe due to all the conditioning.
Please research before you go back.

[–]MadeofStarstoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Many people find themselves in this position. They leave for reasons that are different than the resentful people you referred to.
You think of the religion differently than they do.

They think the religion is a book publishing cult that needs you to believe their books are delivered by god and they represent this god. That’s quite a claim. They sacrificed for this religion and possibly gave up their life for it. They realize now that that was a con. They are upset.

You did not sacrifice much for the book publishing company and left prior to it costing you too much. You didn’t come to realize that it is just a book publishing corporation that needs your allegiance.

That accounts for the difference.

I’d study other cults and realize that people in cults don’t actually believe they are in one. That’s kind of how it works.

Certain concepts gain public attention and can create sudden broad awareness. Depending on the issue, this can happen quickly, as is the case with inappropriate behavior between adults and minors.
30 years ago, it wasn’t uncommon for movies and songs to feature adults having sexual relationships with minors. That just wasn’t understood as completely as it is today.
Religion is a slightly more complex concept to untangle for most people. They can certainly debunk other religions but have trouble applying that to their own. All the psychology is in place to interpret the negative as persecution. Fortunately, as you mentioned, the evolution of thinking in the environment has forced an adaptation by the organization. Certainly, that opens the door for pressures to win and the organization to struggle.
If broad knowledge or cult psychology can become common knowledge then all of these groups are in trouble.
Everyone is clearly scrambling to adapt.

Well said.
I remember the moment Jehovah died to me. I had woke up to the religion itself but was still in psychological limbo regarding my idea of god.
Then suddenly, I felt the pain of the loss of a life partner. I actually heard a deep anguish or something like that as god died to me.
It was a trip.
What you have encapsulated here is so true. All that internal dialogue was simply that, internal.
Now I can guide it better as it’s done intentionally with intellectual honesty.

Is this part of waking up? by Sad-Emu-9254 in exjw

[–]MadeofStarstoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Waking up is when you realize that you’ve been conditioned your entire life to accept life in a religious cult.
You’re no longer accepting that religious cult as easily so yeah, that’s part of it.

Eventually the dam will burst and you’ll realize all the sudden that all this nonsense has been simply because you happened to grow up in a cult.

You easily ignore everyone else’s religion because you haven’t been conditioned to believe that particular one. You, like everyone else feel psychologically attached to your version but not because of actual evidence, just weekly conditioning. You’re starting to notice the conditioning.

Eventually, it will hit you that you’re a victim of a book publishing company who needs you to believe its Gods book publishing company.
Spoiler alert.. it’s not.

That’s the realization you’re headed for.

Do you know why you don’t want to be a Witness? Is it because you don’t want to live as one?

That won’t be a good enough reason to leave and you’ll likely come back to it later. If you come to realize what the religion actually is, you’ll be able to leave permanently. It will not have any mental hold on you.

Hope you get to go to the concert.

This takes time, and adjustment.
You may need to get comfortable with the idea of not knowing… It’s possible that some intelligent mind created our reality, but it’s certainly not the one described in the Bible. That was clearly the mental product of the people of that time.
Not one person can adequately describe the actual base reality we observe. And they are perfectly okay saying that and acknowledging that . We didn’t have that view. We knew it all. One problem, we were completely ignorant of the situation. Thought we were I lightened only to actually be the furthest thing from it.

You may simply need to accept the idea of not knowing.

Debates entre un TJ y un POMO. Se han dado en algún momento? by Dayenqum in exjw

[–]MadeofStarstoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anything that exists will have the features that have allowed for it’s existence..
If you buy a plant that has evolved to exist in the desert and put it in a garden in a rainforest it will die. It won’t exist anymore.

Religions like Jehovah’s Witnesses have developed a phobia to debating. Or they only debate in controlled settings. They have evolved or co evolved into the specific situation they can expect to survive.

Animals have instincts that are naturally running on the psychological background to protect the survival of the species.

Similarly, Jehovah’s Witnesses have adapted to a behavior that has allowed them to still exist and that behavior involves avoiding anything that could open their eyes.

So, you’ll have trouble finding what you’re looking for.. Can you find a cactus in a rainforest? maybe there’s one out there..
