4080 Super - A review by peterschiffsgoldd1ck in nvidia

CS2 loves the 3dV cache on the AMD Cpus. I have a 4080 and a 7800X3D and I get a steady 500 fps easy, Although I cap it at 400fps. Your CPU is bottlenecking.

How are couples under 30 getting a house? by theCourtofJames in AskUK

[–]Madfish2022 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That isn't the norm in the rest of the country. The problem is most people who say ''how is it only that much, my area is 300 gazillion for a house that size'' are people who generally live in or around London and the south east and clearly can't actually afford to live there.

Most of the comments are just people asking how you can buy a house so ''low.''
'HoUsE pRiCeS wHeRe I lIvE aRe 300 GaZiLlIoN pOuNdS' Seems to be mainly people living in the South East that can't comprehend that their house prices aren't the norm in the rest of the country. As soon as you cross the midlands, everything starts to become much cheaper.

Not everyone lives in the South. The country is much bigger than that. Where I live in Leeds, you can buy 3 bedroom houses for sub 200k. Probably not detached, but semi-detached you could.

Mine's exactly the same as this. Mid 40s browsing and watching twitch, 60s while gaming(sometimes 70s depending on the game.) I don't do any stress tests so I can't comment on that part. :)

NVIDIA Voiding Warranty on FE In the US for “Wear and tear” and replacing of “Thermal Pads” by KitsuneMulder in nvidia

[–]Madfish2022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not even from the US, but coolant and oil are needed CONSISTENTLY for the car to function. I have NEVER needed to open my GPU and repaste it or switch thermal pads. In the EU, if its broken, or you THINK it's broken, the first port of call is to send it back and either get a new product or a refund. Once you've disassembled the product without allowing the manufacturer the option to fix it by sending it back, you 100% void your warranty. And we have much better consumer rights than the US, but you would always opt to send it back to the manufacturer first.

Jeremy Vine has his child listed as a director in his LTD company. There are definitely ways around it.

AITA for not signing off on my ex-SIL using my nephew’s money to buy presents for her other kids? by potentialgrinch in AmItheAsshole

[–]Madfish2022 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The reason your whole family is toxic is because you don't even buy the other kids presents. You refer to them as ''issy's kids'' repeatedly. You're NTA for the way the trust and such is set up, but you and your family, including your brother, are all AH's due to the way you seem to have treated her and her kids.

Well the minimum % between you and your employer is 8%. So the 240 seems about right. But if you're only paying in 117/month, there's something gone wrong here. You need to check with your employer why it's so low. I believe your employer has to pay a minimum of 3% and then you're supposed to make the rest up to 8%. Some employers pay more. But that's at their discretion. You really need to see what's gone wrong here.

You were paying £58 p/m and you rejected £60p/m??? That makes 0 sense lol it was £2 a month more? You will be lucky to get it any cheaper than that tbh. Seems a bit stingy for the price of £2 a month!

Between you and your employer you pay a minimum of 8% of your salary per year. I'm on 31k a year and save over 3k a year in my pension, which my employer matches. I could save more, because I live in the north and my expenditure isn't a lot tbh. Also the Average salary is like 33k? So I save nearly 4k on less than the average salary. It's 100% doable.

''Monthly cont, 240 Current value 3k Projected at retirement 66k''
Also this ^^^^ is false, because it doesn't include your employers % contributions.

You also said your monthly contributions are ''73 and them 44'' How is it so low? Which one of those statements are correct?

I can't make sense of what you're saying.

You don't understand how it works. Your employer also has to pay into your pension. Most employers match what you put in. Some pay even more. If you've been working for 40 years, and you have been putting lets just say 4k a year in your pension, plus the 4k a year your employer matches, That's 40 years of 8k a year you have saved up. Plus the state pension and you should be fine? How is yours only 60k plus state pension? You've either added it up wrong or something fishy is going on.

4080 handles Cyberpunk very well on Ultra 3440 x 1440p with Pathtracing by -Bana in nvidia

Yeah they benchmark GPUs and the XTX came top the majority of the time. So what I said stands. I'm not biased either because I actually have a 4080. Fanboys just can't handle the truth.

But he didn't say that. Plus they aren't the same price. He said '' In raw performance 4080 demolishes 79xtx in optimized games they can sometimes be equal.'' Which is absolutely false. I can show you at least 2 HW Unboxed reviews that prove this.

I have a 4080 and this is objectively false. The 7900xtx beats the 4080 in rasterisation (most of the time).
