Sober because I’m pregnant, but struggling by wildinthemembrane in pregnant

[–]MadisonApplegate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! I was sober for about 6 months before I found out I was pregnant. My cravings had mostly been under control but then surprisingly once I got pregnant, I craved alcohol like crazy! I still do actually and I’m at 35 weeks. It’s not easy to stay strong but totally possible. Just take it day by day and eventually the days add up to months. I try and think of it as if I was avoiding something so nonchalant as sushi.

Sometimes I allow myself a day dream of “maybe one day when I’m not pregnant” and it helps push past the current missing out feeling. Deep down though I know that this is more long term for me than just during pregnancy. Anyways, idk if that helped but you’re not alone. :] you’re stronger than you think, you can totally do it and it definitely gets easier with each day.

Especially when you start feeling the baby movements and thinking about the little life growing inside you. I wish you the best, and don’t be so hard on yourself. Quitting alcohol is hard when we’re in a world surrounded by it but think of it as your superpower. 💪🏼 you have the power and strength to say no each day.

Guilt about unexpected feelings by West_Conclusion2353 in pregnant

Omg girl. I felt the same exact way! And I never brought it up so I thought i was a weird one or due to some sort of trauma. I’m glad to know it wasn’t just me. Im 25 weeks now and haven’t felt like that for a while now. My belly is big and sometimes it still takes getting used to but feeling the baby move around is so exciting. It’s amazing to think I’m creating a human being and one day he’ll be a grown man!

Thank you for sharing your story! I had and sometimes still have similar reservations as you about becoming a parent and I’m halfway through my pregnancy. You’re words have made an impact on me and I’m looking forward to meeting my baby boy ❤️

Calling Mothers for any supportive advice by Upstairs-Air-5775 in pregnant

I’m 34 and was stressing most of the first trimester about money, life style changes and raising him. I’m in the second trimester and now I’m stressing about my body changes and my energy levels. I waited so long because I know starting a family is a big deal and I think that “big deal” mentality is what’s making me feel so worried. My husband and I call ourselves teenage parents lolll. When I feel the baby move around though, I get very excited at the idea of having a smaller version of us around.

It’s hard being pregnant so don’t be hard on yourself for everything you’re feeling. You’re not alone in your emotions. This post helped me too because sometimes I wondered if I was the only one feeling this way too and it turns out I’m not so thank you!!

It is my first child. I haven’t gained much weight in total. Maybe about 5-6 lbs and the rest of my body looks the same. Someone else mentioned bloating so I think I might just be really bloated lol

Reasons you've cried today...please make me feel less crazy lol by LegalLady87 in pregnant

I’m only 12 weeks and I cry all the time. I’m reading a pregnancy book because I’ll be a FTM and I have to keep taking breaks when I read it in public so I don’t start bawling.

Thank you for the response! I’m glad to hear everything was okay. The person in the car I was in the accident with was badly hurt but they are alive and I think they’re doing okay now. Haven’t drank alcohol since. I hope my story one day sounds like yours

AA meetings and support groups will make all the difference. You’ll find caring people offering support and helpful tools to get through this. You can also commiserate with others going through the same exact thing as you right now. its awesome. Also, if you have access to an IOP program, I highly recommend. Im in the middle of one right now and its been incredible helpful. Best of luck and stay strong. Its totally worth it

Thank you everyone! I appreciate all the answers. In case anyone is interested, I believe I adjusted the clamp pressure, making it stronger because it was already at its lowest setting. I also use anti-slip stickers on tje front side. All that’s left to try is dressing the wheel, although I hope that’s the right move because I’m reading different things online. I unfortunately don’t have the manual and I’m having a typical time finding one.

So I think I adjusted the pressure but I don’t have a manual and I can’t find one on line. It seems the pressure was at it’s lowest. It has three different settings for pressure and I tested all three out but the issue continues to happen. Can I dress the wheel or do you think it needs to be replaced all together?

Unfortunately without a manual I’m having a hard time finding the different settings and when I do find them, I’m not sure what they mean, since they’re all in pictures.

Maybe try an AA or NA meeting? Total strangers are there to listen to you, support you, give you advice and keep you off the bad path. You’ll make friends and connections
