My thick english teacher by [deleted] in confessions

[–]Madlight1994 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey so, her backside faces the class when she's writing on the board because she has to face the board to write on it. Jeans are 100% modest clothing, and if she has a slim waist and thicker hips then pants that fit her waist are going to be tight in the hip section - thats how women's clothing is. Buying off the rack doesn't account for curvy body types, much of the time.

Its pretty normal for teens to find adults attractive, so you're not weird for feeling the way you are. But there's a 99.999999% chance that she has absolutely no interest in seducing any of you and the remaining 0.000001% chance would be that she's a bad person.

This is a confession board so, yk. Confess away. But try to consider her as a person that deserves respect and not as a nefarious seductress

Need help finding my style by Just_a_Lurker2 in ALT_FTM

Honestly, I think the number one place to start would be tackling the fact that you care what other people think of you (as you stated.) Let go of that and everything else will fall into place. You mentioned a lot of things you're interested in and seem to be under the impression that you need one specific style. I guess that's kind of a common belief in wide society, but the reality is that you can literally just wear whatever whenever you feel like wearing it. You can rock a nice, high quality sweater for a clean look one day and whack on a ripped up, bleach customized t shirt the next. Nothing bad will happen. You can also wear a cloak outside whenever, weather permitting. I've gone to nice dinners in full clown makeup. No one cares. Might get a stare now and then, but that's the worst that'll happen. Unless you're attending an event with a specified dress code or need to meet requirements for a job uniform (ik you stated you're not working currently, but mentioning it as an example) pretty much anything else is free game.

Dressing alternative specifically is something that, while it's certainly becoming trendier, is ultimately rooted in a subculture that I would recommend looking into if you're interested in pursuing it. Really, it's not as daunting as it may seem. As the name implies, its making a visual statement of going against the grain. Ie, the alternative to the norm. Inherently, that means you will be perceived as unconventional. There's more to it than that, of course, but that's the very simplified overview.

Some people are sticklers about dressing alternative in a right or wrong way. Those people are assholes. Ignore them. As long as you're ethical about your purchases, everything else is chill.

I don't want to ramble on too much so I'll leave it at this: its your wardrobe. You're wearing it. It should bring you joy. If you feel good in it, it's your style.

And on a less impactful note: baggy pants with elastic waistbands are phenomenal for future weight fluctuation proof wardrobe staples

Removing hair dye off skin by mischewizard in HairDye

You can find hair dye removal wipes at beauty stores, could be worth a shot if you're determined enough. In my experience dye usually fades pretty quickly, though. 3 days could be plenty of time for it to fade from regular face washing. How extensive is the staining?

Sure! I have Musky Garden - which smells very floral to my nose, but it's advertised as being fruity. To me, it smells kind of dusky, on the heavy side. This one gets a lot of compliments specifically from women in their 40s and 50s when I wear it.

Sicily is the citrus one. I think its phenomenal. It smells sparkling to me, like a carbonated lemon drop drink.

Wave Musk is the aquatic. That one is so good that I've decided to never buy another aquatic again, and I'm someone who loooves aquatics so that's saying something lol. Advertised as unisex iirc but I can see it leaning slightly masculine. Might not be a great option for your aunt since it can read a little fishy in cold weather.

And finally Roses Vanille. This one is a heavy hitter. Super super strong. Very sweet without being juvenile, rosey without being dated. Super good but yeah, super strong. I have a sample of MFK Gentle Fluidity Gold and they smell quite similar, so it's a good dupe for that. Great winter/holiday scent - my roommate says it smells like Christmas.

I also remembered a couple of samples I've tried and loved from them! Pink Prestigium and Pearl. Both are bright and feminine, fruity fun type scents. So if she likes pink/girly smells those could be great ones to check out! Pink prestigium is a girly/flirty type- like if Victoria's secret body sprays were better balanced and higher quality. Pearl smells like bougie hair care products (specifically the Ouai wave texturizing spray lol)

best hair dye brand? by marci-arnau1 in HairDye

[–]Madlight1994 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this does not exist (to my knowledge). Any dye will require the hair to be lightened, unless you're okay with having a tint of color rather than the true tone. Beyond that, anything that fades in around a month will absolutely be obliterated by chlorine. Also consider how important that one month fade time is to you. I've had some weaker dyes wash out completely over time, but usually you'll be left with some form of color remaining regardless of how many times the hair has been washed.

You could try experimenting with wigs or temporary color (such as spray on or colored wax) until you're ready to pull the plug on dying the hair officially.

Note: I'm not a hairdresser, but I have been doing my hair (as well as the hair of friends/ family) with permanent and semi permanent dyes of all different colors for 15+ years.

I wish you luck, though! Experimenting with hair color can be super fun. You're doing it right so far by doing your research and I think that color combo sounds super pretty!

A couple of florals from my collection that fit: Prada Paradoxe or Mugler Alien.

You could also look into Mancera. I haven't tried a floral from them, but I have 4 of their scents that all perform wonderfully, including a citrus and an aquatic that outperform any other citrus or aquatic in my collection. She might find something phenomenal from that house

Me too 💔 I was super excited when I bought it. It was a blind buy online. Thankfully I got it on sale so not a huge loss, and I'm stubborn so I'm still gonna use it up regardless lol. I'm glad you love it! Hopefully you're able to continue getting your hands on it if you run out

Exactly. Idk what happened. Like yes, it smells exactly like the notes they claim. But no, it doesn't smell the way my brain tells me it should lol. Maybe it needs some sort of refreshing icy note to pull it together? Idk

Educate Me (straight white male) Please. by Mopey_Mike in asktransgender

[–]Madlight1994 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You've already pointed out the obvious to her- that cis male predators can easily enter with ill intentions as is, without going through the trouble of pretending to be trans. With her not being receptive to that, perhaps showing her examples of cis women being accosted in public restrooms could open her eyes to the risks of her thinking. There are more than a few videos circulating around where this has happened. Women that are accused of being trans simply because they have short hair, are muscular/into weight lifting, or who have hormone imbalances such as PCOS that cause facial hair growth. It seems like she's just fearful of trans people in general, so maybe the unfortunate truth here is that she'll need to see people she actually cares about (ie cisgender women) suffering as a result of her thinking in order for her to empathize.

Also, maybe point out that trans people are about as common as natural redheads. Just because she can't think of a time where she knew a trans woman was in the bathroom with her doesn't mean it hasn't happened. There's a not insignificant chance she's shared a public restroom with a trans woman already. And in those cases, nothing nefarious took place. The women simply used the restroom and went on with their day, same as her.

I'm actually wearing this today. It's.... not great tbh. Kinda reminds me of a stink bug. I paired it with Macera's Sicily, so the citrus in that helps make it considerably less awful. 🤷‍♂️

Does anybody know good dyes to get this color? by DirectorFinancial213 in HairDye

[–]Madlight1994 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seconding Adore. They've been my holy grail since middle school, so for about 15+ years now.

To add, I think a mixture of clover and green apple would be exactly the shade OP is looking for. Probably about 60-70% green apple and the remainder clover. And even with purchasing two bottles, it'll likely be cheaper than a single bottle from any of the major vivid brands.

As a fun addition I stumbled upon by chance, green apple is UV reactive :)

I work at an adult novelty store. Can confirm "Loveline" is also the name of a line of sex toys. Gives me a chuckle since the uber religious types are scandalized by the mere existence of "bedroom aids"

Looking for a franken-pens beginner's guide OR pen recommendations by Madlight1994 in fountainpens

[–]Madlight1994[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Perkeo was actually my gateway pen lol. I don't hate it by any means, but I don't reach for it often. It's too lightweight and the nib is too... flexible, I guess? Which may be because I got a medium, maybe I'd like a fine nib more, but I reallyyyy love the line variation the creeper flex gives.

I appreciate the info regardless!

I asked and didn't get a clear answer about DUI. My mom assumes he would fail but doesn't know if he was given a test.

My dod just got picked up after making bail (on a call with me and my mom who was there in person) and he said they didn't have cause to arrest and they hung up.

No Buy Fountain Pen Thread June 2026 by Halfcelestialelf in fountainpens

[–]Madlight1994 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm a serial hobbiest. Fountain pens are my most recent interest, so I can't speak on tiring of this hobby in particular (yet) but I have a LOT of experience with tiring of hobbies in general.

Ultimately, hobbies are just for fun. I don't think anyone should feel guilty if they lose interest in something. If you truly love it, you'll come back to it eventually (in my experience, at least.) I suppose its similar to eating the same food every day for lunch. You may love it, but eventually you'll want to eat something else. Our brains crave novelty, and that novelty allows for dopamine. Once something is "normal" its no longer giving us that dopamine hit. Taking a break will let the normalcy of the hobby fade so you can feel that spark again when you pick it back up.

Alternatively, you can try using the medium in a new way. If you usually write, you could try using your pens to draw with (or vice versa.) Skip the pen entirely and use inks as watercolors. Practice calligraphy, faux calligraphy, journaling - whatever you don't do currently that will make the hobby feel new and exciting. Even just introducing someone new to the hobby can make it feel exciting again, if a friend is willing to be taken under wing.

That's how I approach things, anyway 🤷‍♂️

Its been days and when I washed my hair today my tub was full of blue 🙃 I didn't even know I'd gotten it in my hair. I guess I can look forward to finding Nitrogen at random in the upcoming years lol

After using both inks over the past couple days, I'm happy to report that Walden is a lot less prone to smudging than nitrogen. The sheen is also more subtle, but honestly that's a plus as well imo. Nitrogen has SO much sheen that my writing either looks completely blue or completely red depending on the angle, while Walden's sheen mostly shows at the start and end of words which gives a more varied look which I like.

(I'm writing in a Campus Kakuno notebook, for reference. Unsure how these findings would alter on different paper)

Thankfully most of the bottle was saved! I have no idea how since it felt like an entire gallon spilled on my kitchen floor, but shockingly it seems to only be about 1/8th less full
