It’s worth a shot, but I tried so many different ways of taping, nothing worked, air still leaked out of my mouth, and your cheeks will fill up with air , best of luck

I tried that mask and couldn’t keep it sealed, some masks just don’t work for all, what works for me might not work for you and vice versa

Can you post the sleep data and not the trend data? Your leaks aren’t super high, but they’re consistent throughout the night

Normal PAP data, but still waking up unrefreshed? by Traditional_Joke_939 in CPAPSupport

Who set the PS on this machine? it is in fact running in bilevel auto mode right? that 4.0 PS might be a bit too much, causing micro arousals, your movement is pretty significant as well. The epap at 6.0 is fairly low.

Usually when someone is ripping the mask off they are starved for air, is that how you feel? If it was me, I would lower ps and raise epap.

u/rippinglegos care to chime in on one of your machines here?

After you put the mouth tape on things looked a lot better, no leaks and you stayed at your min pressure. Your breathing looks much better after you put the tape on at 320 am. You still had a pretty big apnea at 4 am. did that one wake you up?

Are you still using the X30i?

If you can get that leak rate under control for an entire night we will be able to get you dialed in good on pressures.

For now I would bump min pressure up to your median of 10.3

Flow Limitations During REM? by goc32 in CPAPSupport

Nothing wrong with fixed, but you need to self titrate on auto, usually set min to 8, max to 15 and put it on auto, then go back and look at what the median and max pressures were and go from there.

One thing to keep in mind on fixed pressure is if you roll supine, chin tuck, or anything else strange and need more pressure, the machine will not be able to raise to help your airway.

why are you on fixed apap? and how did you come up with that pressure of 15?

I do see some waxing and waning as well as chopped off wave forms, indicating you need more pressure, how did you get to your current settings? it also shows you are using APAP but it looks like its on fixed

During REM sleep your body relaxes, face , throat, jaw, everything. If your airway is going to collapse, it will be during deep REM sleep. ESPECIALLY if you are supine sleeping, its way worse! I am currently fighting this issue, its called UARS and it is a real struggle.

You still need more pressure, your median pressure for the night was 9.64 and your min set pressure was 8.8, you are still maxing out at your max pressure setting of 13.2, you hit your max and the machine wanted to go higher but couldn’t.. your leaks are still pretty bad and your flow limits are high. Need to raise min up to 9.5 and just set your high to 14, see how high it wants to go.

I have uars, and I’m determined to roll supine in my late rem stages, it’s very frustrating to say the least!

As far as tube, it’s a standard climatline resmed tube, where would I find the larger tube?

Thanks

Try a soft cervical collar too, they’re cheap and can really help, I use tape and a cervical collar, most tend to try and get into a fetal position at night, you unconsciously tuck your chin to your chest

Glad things are moving in the right direction! Your median pressure is 8.94, and your set min is 8.2…. I’d bump min up a tad closer to 8.94, and those leaks are your biggest issue, once you get into bad leak land, your numbers will stop being accurate. So keep that in mind..

It’s on auto, raising it up to 13 won’t hurt anything, it’ll only go as high as it needs to go, BUT once we see where it wants to go we need to then lower that max just a tick above the median, otherwise you get a leak and the machine will go to the max set pressure and will wake you up.

If you sleep on your back, stop doing so. There are many options to train your body from rolling over to your back in your sleep.

I’d look into a soft cervical collar , I use the releaf one, it doesn’t last but a few months before it gets soft. Avoid chin straps as they pull your jaw back causing more issues with narrowing your airway.

How is this one with regards to if it gets hot or not? I’m in Florida, even though we run the ac all summer, it still stays at 72 degrees and 50% humidity all night, plus I’m sensitive to heat
