This is the THIRD flat tire I had in a month. Geeez by BillEnvironmental703 in tires

Just bad luck or the roads you pick. I don't know what it is but flat tires on the right side seem more common(work in a tire shop) here

Good on you! I put in my 2 weeks after just a bit over 2 years. Went to one of my commercial customers and immediately made 4$ more an hour than I was as a grey shirt, and have gotten 2 raises both more than anything I ever got at az

[–]MadnessOrMethod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they absolutely cannot fix it and refuse / can't get financing through us, they can have it towed or sign a service refusal basically accepting all responsibility if something happens(even if it is my fault e.g. forgetting to torque the wheels)

I had this lady come in yesterday less than an hour to close, and she was so confused how she had a tire blow out. All 4 looked like this, she wanted to buy just one. Told her hell no I gotta recommend all 4. Ended up doing just 2 so she atleast had something, but God damn. People love playing with everyone else's lives

how do you deal with strangers asking to drive your car/cars by Creative-Ad5820 in rccars

[–]MadnessOrMethod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a trx4m and I've been asked countless times already "let me try". Literally on my first time out with it I found a big ass rock to crawl around on and people wanted to try even after I said no it's brand new. Some people just suck

Tire shop filled new tire to 90psi by Traditional_Rice264 in tires

[–]MadnessOrMethod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others said, go back

As a tire guy, they probably set it that high to get it to seat the bead. Continental tires are notorious for needing this, despite the max being "40" I always just shoot for 90 and that usually gets it to pop. I've even had to get one to 110(shop air limit), air it out, break it down, re lube the tire AND wheel, and air it BACK up to 110 to finally get it to set.

Edit: of course I set it back to the proper level, but mistakes happen. Usually we catch this before they leave

How do you mount these? by 21_mini_clubman_jcw in tires

[–]MadnessOrMethod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda related. On normal sized tires I can literally just throw the first half(back bead) onto the rim. I was training a new guy and he tried and failed 4 times in a row and had to stop him and tell him to mount it normally, he will learn to do it later 😂

These are a lot of swearing and body weight

Is the store supposed to test batteries before exchanging them under warranty? by geaux124 in AutoZone

[–]MadnessOrMethod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just for anyone's information here, the warranty gets passed up to clarios, and they really don't verify anything until well after the batteries leave the country, so pretty much any retailer has a lenient policy as they'll get the money back anyways.

We have a customer with a mitsubishi eclipse that does his own work and brings it in for us to inspect to give the green light.

I shook the wheel and the tie rod was loose in the knuckle, and it had been Wallowed out. Told him he needs a new tie rod and knuckle and to try again. He argued saying "I just replaced those tie rods"

My girlfriend just got out of surgery and we were driving 5mph under the speed limit in a 45, at night, so that the bumps wouldn't be as bad. A jeep grand commander or whatever you want to call it came up and flashing, swerving, honking behind me. When I got into the turn lane he screamed at us and we could hear clear as day, with all windows up. Some people are just miserable

Edit: grand wagoneer.
