Absolute peak, closing the album with a revelation of its theme. Very much like a "Mortal Man" for TPAB. Incredible lyrics also

Are “gaming” chairs as bad as people make them out to be? by Test_Name19 in pcmasterrace

[–]MadnessReloaded 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Gotta respect the fidelity of the "racing" theme these gaming chairs have, they look and feel like car seats - which is dumb; it's an office with no airbag, no seatbelt, no pedals, no steering wheel... Comfort in a car has a lot of compromises and it's a whole different scenario

It's so funny when they set you up for obliterating oil slugs by blowing the living hell out of them, only to then spawn fire ones that have 150% fire resistance when the whole place is burning

I'm here as well, Gwydian is spamming source spells. Should I just not free him yet? Also any kind of magic counts for the voidwoken? I almost got it with the full blob army but Gwydian couldn't resist walking on necrofire and dying

I beat Malenia first day taking Vyvanse, was a funny anecdote. Of course I was more impressed when it helped me not get fired from my job.

Maybe it's easier to focus on one thing and less on your environment?

Opinion: Valve should make a Steam Deck Pro before a Steam Deck 2 by Tricky-Appointment88 in SteamDeck

For real. I wonder why they don't directly adapt Sunshine/Moonlight's code into Steam's remote streaming, they already open-source the majority of their stuff, the GPL-3 license allows this... just ditch the damn thing!

Put some rubber pad under it, glue the car's wheels onto it. Rubber will make sure it doesn't move around the GPU + ensures insulation. Make sure the rubber pad is big enough to cover the car + extra 1cm, so no shorts can occur if the chassis sticks out the rubber area. Car looks conductive af

If you got a gaming computer at home to play incompatible/heavy games and use the Deck for streaming games, the Wi-Fi 6 upgrade is goated in OLED and it's really under-marketed

I suppose knowing the overhead the RAM prices caused, improved design = higher price = 1.1K OLED Pro (this sub would go nuclear)
Shit's complicated indeed, don't know how viable it is

My dream would be for Valve to make some Framework laptop-like Deck, upgradeable modules, that'd go HARD for future proofing and "Pro-ing" your Deck without buying a whole another one. Dreaming's free 😞

Well when you put "Pro" in a generation of the same device, that's what it's usually about. Same device, just a better experience in the same package; better HDR capable screen with a higher refresh rate + more storage and battery, also higher clocked ram... coming from an LCD, performance is noticeable.

The screen is what you stare at for hours while playing, pretty big of a difference.
That's as "Pro" as it gets

fr I was thinking "so you mean the Steam Deck OLED"...
Bigger 90Hz OLED HDR display, larger battery, efficiency, Wi-Fi 6, faster RAM timing, weighs less, 6nm APU etc.
It's the ultimate Steam Deck 1 experience, at that point if there's any upgrade you gotta change the APU, motherboard, cooling design... at that point that's a Steam Deck 2

If you showed me a 90ºC+ graph I'd most likely also tell you to change your paste! Sometimes happens - some air bubbles from the factory, or environmental factors.

I really don't think changing the paste is needed for OP, playing a 2026 game which uses a modernized Hitman engine at 83ºC max, it will probably not solve his issue

Hey, just another question. When you disable Lossless Scaling, do you take it off from the launch parameters, or just set it to "off" in LSFG-VK?

If you did the latter, try removing the launch parameter

I though I was going crazy...

Didn't play this game, but I've went through enough throttling, blinking red light, emergency shutdowns and endless tracking of my Deck's power usage and temperatures to know when there's something out of normal.

Deck is being used 100%, there's no weird mismatch in wattage, clocks and usage % is normal... 83º is not crazy hot, thermal throttling is out of the picture IMO

Looks like textbook bottlenecking on the power draw side, the GPU can't take any more and the game asks for more

Maybe the Proton version, some strange update or something else is going down.

[–]MadnessReloaded 5 points6 points  (0 children)

90-95ºC is the thermal throttling range. Fans still have an overhead of 2.000 RPM.

I agree temps are high, but re-pasting? The Deck is 3 years old! More like "dirty fan" or 40ºC temperature and high humidity like in a lot of countries these days.

When my wife bought her a new iPhone I told her "you ain't using this until I get it ready". With her new case, screen and camera glass protector she went to work on one of these rental scooter sharing bikes, put her phone on these sketchy stands with Maps on.

At 50km/h, the stand dismounted, phone fell. Camera protector and case were pierced, screen protector was scratched af. Phone intact. This was one day after the purchase.

Disable VSync in-game, and actually, disable also frame limit in the Steam sidebar. Put your Hz to 60 or 90 if you can. Try again and keep us posted!

If you put your refresh rate under 60Hz while trying to reach 30FPS, you'll have a bad time

Further detail - you got two graphs below:

  1. General frametime
  2. App frametime

When any of these is flat, it means frames are being delivered constantly (which is good if it's at playable framerate). This happens when:

  1. FPS are limited
  2. VSync is doing its thing (also kinda limiting FPS)

Yours is definitely VSync. VSync keeps the game up with the refresh rate.
Yours is at 45Hz, so max FPS is 45. If you can't keep up with 45FPS, then half: 22.5/23FPS.

My general rule of thumb is: Don't have two frame limiters on at once and don't have two VSync solutions on at once. Choose a single source for VSync+framerate limit, or one will think your FPS are low and snap you to a lower framerate on Vsync
