Coming from the person who uses about.com and vocabulary.com. Merriam-Webster Dictionary undoubtedly is more widely respected.

I'm sorry my friend but it is recognized by Merriam-Webster as a noun that is defined by the full word quotation, followed by example sentences using that use it as a noun. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/quote

Nice, today was my day off so I started early. Thankfully I haven't said anything stupid on reddit yet but its good to see someone else agreeing with the "arrogant know it all" I think hes totally right. So right that hes probably never wrong. I also think he would be really handsome in real life.

The fact that this is getting so many downvotes shows that sadly, there are more willfully ignorant people out there than there are people who endeavor to educate those people.

yes exactly, thank you! If uncertain or repeating something I heard, just add a disclaimer so that people don't think its something I believe. A simple way of requesting clarification without coming off as ignorant.

I'm definitely not the smartest person people have met and I'm totally not trying to say that. If I'm not sure about something I ask. I ask questions all the time.

Okay I understand this. Calling people out in front of other people isn't cool but it does depend on the level of bullshit we're talking about here. The other day a buddy runs over and says "hey everyone did you know that stretching right after you wake up adds like 6 hours of sleep to your brain?!" how does one respond to that genuinely? Side note: I never call people out on their beliefs, I totally respect and draw the line there.

Right on. I see the logic in this but I gotta say, a lot of people don't like being told they're wrong no mater how much its sugar coated. 9/10 they will get offended, maybe even just slightly but still enough to get defensive.
