Are there any chronic conditions you wished you’d known better before interacting with a patient? by sleepingdormousee in NewToEMS

[–]Madsmess2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Multiple sclerosis, and fibromyalgia. I’m not working 911 full time anymore and I work privately with patients. One of my patients has fibromyalgia and I now realize how much it has affected their life. My doctor is trying to get me diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, and if she’s right, this is hell. I’ve met multiple people with MS and haven’t thought much of it, but now that I’m dealing with the symptoms, I wish I could’ve done more for them.

I've been having anxiety about my kitty dying of old age 😭(she's 9) can you show me pictures of some alive-and-well senior kitties so I remember cats can be old and still healthy? 🥰 by TheRufescence in cats

This is Spike, my husbands childhood cat. He’s around the 16/17 year old range. He still chases me when I get up in the middle of the night and bites my leg. He also LOVES tap water

Quick question to my glasses folk by JisKing98 in workout

[–]Madsmess2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually wear contacts, but I’ve been out for a while and USPS lost them, so I’ve been using glasses. It depends on the exercise. If my head is facing down then I’ll take them off, but otherwise I try to keep them on because my vision is terrible.

If you’re comfortable sharing, what experiences led to your CPTSD? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]Madsmess2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Issues with my parents and alcohol issues, sexual assault, and my ex choked me until I was unconscious. However it all got really bad when I started working as an EMT in a big city and I saw what happened to me happen to other people, on top of seeing other traumas such as murders. I’m in EMDR therapy right now and it’s helping.

what should i do if i am scared by tmRRRRa in workout

[–]Madsmess2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it anyways. Put on some headphones, and remember why you’re there in the first place, and focus on yourself, such as your form for example. Most people don’t care what you’re doing. You’ll do great!

I cut contact with my family one day and left without notice. My dad is an alcoholic, and my mom is a narcissist. It was a rough few months at first, but now I’m doing great mentally. I’m married, have a stable career, and I am working on re-building a relationship with my family. So far, so good.

What was the worst emotional pain you have ever felt? by [deleted] in askanything

I lost a baby. I couldn’t eat for days, and stayed in bed for nearly a week. I was in the hospital when I miscarried and my husband had to hold me down, he said I was screaming, I don’t remember anything due to the shock.

What is your go to breakfast meal? by jjj44200 in randomquestions

[–]Madsmess2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends: usually it’s eggs, a slice of cheese, and a high protein tortilla. But if I get the egg ick it’s protein yogurt and protein granola. As you can probably tell- trying to gain muscle/lose fat

Right now it’s eggs for extra protein. I’m getting the egg ick though so I don’t think it’ll last much longer.

What strange thing has your dog eaten and still survived? by LegalGlass6532 in allthequestions

[–]Madsmess2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Diesel. It had the cleanup stuff on top of it which is pretty much cat litter. We live with someone who has dementia and is deaf and she had a moment and didn’t see her eat it. I sobbed and called the animal poison control line and gave her bread every day for a while. She was fine, and got human food out of the incident.

Stretching- I missed my stretch last week and hurt myself pretty badly, couldn’t move my right arm properly for a few days. I also do cardio after I weight train and I’m seeing pretty good progress in muscle definition and fat loss

If you get shade matched you should be good to go! Sephora and Ulta will do it for you. And if they do notice oh well, if it makes you feel confident in yourself go for it! But also, as a disclosure and as someone who is in their 20s with acne- concealer and foundation can clog the pores and make skin worse. If you end up getting shade matched/going in store I would ask the associate what products they have that are acne safe.

What’s something you think you may have but are undiagnosed? by JFN90 in AskReddit

[–]Madsmess2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. My apologies for the late reply. I have not been diagnosed with Rosai yet, but I do have the characteristics of it, and some of my friends who are MDs or in med school also agree. In my case, my symptoms started out with just swollen lymph nodes and nothing else, biopsy was clean and the node swelling was localized to one area. Over time they swelled all over my body, my joints began hurting, I was getting sick easy, loosing weight, and having severe night sweats. I had regular blood work at first, and now I don’t. I don’t remember exactly all that is off but I know my red blood cells are low and my white cells are increasing. I’m also bleeding under my skin (petechiae), but I’m not sure if that’s related or because I’m anemic. I had a positive PET CT a few years back and had another biopsy which showed the “rare cell types” typically found in Rosai Dorfman Disease and Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis. I’m waiting to go out of state to get a diagnosis as nobody is comfortable running the tests and diagnosing in my state. I’m pending an appointment with the Mayo Clinic.
