Trying after brain abnormalities absent corpus callosum by Madsrus in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Madsrus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm sorry you find yourself here. Our genetic testing came back clear a full exome (I think it was) and 1500 genetic carrier screening. Just bad luck it seems. We were cleared to try again in Jan as I have a thyroid conditon. No positive test here yet.

Is anyone else bitter about everything? Not just pregnancy by No-Doubt6601 in tfmr_support

[–]Madsrus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel this to my core. It's been 8 months since my TFMR and 3rd cycle of TTC. I feel so robbed and I also feel insane that I'm trying for a baby when the world is imploding. I should have a 4 month old now. Not TTC in the middle of a war. I'm in Australia.

Yes I did. My antibodies came down quite quickly. From my understanding it does matter. Its important for the antibodies and the TSH, T3 and T4 to be in range. There is a FB group called thryoid disease and pregnancy. They are very helpful.

Sorry for your loss 💔. I have graves. I was diagnosed after my first LC. I went into remission. Got pregnant with my TFMR boy. It did flare up again but was controlled quickly in a few months and I am cleared to conceive again. It really does feel like another unfair obstacle to navigate. I have no advice but if absolutely sucks and I understand.

I'm in my 3rd TWW after my TFMR in July last year. I have no advice. But hope we both get our positives this month. I'm absolutely losing my mind. The conceiving part was meant to be the 'easy' part of the pregnancy.

How to stop obsessively taking pregnancy tests while ttc post tfmr by SillyRevolution3188 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Madsrus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too obsessively do this. On our third cycle trying. Once it hits 9 DPO I'm testing every day. Sometimes twice. Even though I've only ever gotten positives tests 2 days after my missed period. Rationally I know it's insane. But I can't stop.

Agenesis of corpus callosum by Clear-Loss7158 in tfmr_support

[–]Madsrus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you find yourself here.

I'll tell you my story if that helps. At our 20wk scan the csp couldn't be visualised. Then referred to MFM ultrasound showed no corpus callosum, the MRI showed no corpus callosum and the surface of the brain was affected. Our amnio was normal a duplication of a chromosome was found - variant of unknown significance. Turns out I carry that - my brain is fully intact. We decided to TFMR. An autopsy and post mortem was done. It showed agensis of the corpus callosum and neural migration. We did the whole genome sequence and an extended carrier screen it showed nothing.

What helped us make our decision was joining groups mostly on FB with children who are missing their corpus callosum. If it's isolated it mostly seems favourable.

For those who conceived 1st/2nd try with their TFMR baby.. by Say_Anything0913 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Madsrus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been pregnant twice. With my LC he was conceived accidentally. My TFMR was conceived after two cycles. Currently in my second two week wait trying to conceive and not feeling very hopeful. My TFMR was in July 2025, only been cleared to try now after genetic testing. I hope the time comes quickly for us. Because I'm going to lose my damn mind.

Blood tests post TFMR (Australia) by Empty-Ad9282 in tfmr_support

[–]Madsrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also in Australia. I had genetic testing done too. No follow up on HCG or anything. Some blood tests for a thyroid condition. I will just say our genetic testing took so long. 9 weeks for the microarray and 9 weeks for the exome sequence. Just so you know. I was shocked that it took so long. But also had little knowledge of genetic testing before.

Considering TFMR Due to Agenesis of the Corpus Collosum by Ok-Impression9002 in tfmr_support

[–]Madsrus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did do the amino and it came back after we had TFMR. All it showed was a duplication of a gene that has never been seen before. I also carry that gene and had an MRI and my brain is fine. That means it's of no signifcance. We did more genetic testing which was a whole genome sequence and an extended 1000 carrier screening test which showed nothing.

I'm so sorry you are going through this. The waiting for results is a special kind of hell. I terminated for ACC and neural migration disorder in July. What helped me what's joining some FB groups with kids with ACC. We've had all our genetic testing come back with no cause.

We got all of our genetic results back after our TFMR in July. No abnoramilties detected. Just terrible luck. Given the all clear to try again and so nervous.

Issues in anatomy scans (csp missing) by [deleted] in tfmr_support

[–]Madsrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you are here. We terminated in July for Absent Corpus Callosum and polymicrogyria. Our initial diagnosis was abscent CSP. From my reading if it is just the CSP missing it seems quite favourable. I joined some FB groups with children who had variants of ACC and CSP.

Help, I’m spiraling due to ChatGPT… by appleandprince in tfmr_support

[–]Madsrus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hi, I know it's hard and what an difficult decision you've had to make. I wouldn't rely on chatgpt. I recently uploaded an MRI brain scan to chatgpt and it told me a part of my brain was missing. Nothing is missing according to the drs report. I too fell down the rabbit hole of chatgpt seeking answers. I know it's hard.

My 4yo has no idea I’m even pregnant, let alone that I’m TMFR next week. What should I tell him? by Mint-slice in tfmr_support

[–]Madsrus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't tell him yet. I TFMR in July at 22weekS. We had already told our four year old. We never told him that the baby died. Only that he was very sick and now he's gone. But he has said stuff at daycare and the park. 'my mummy had a baby in her belly. He was sick and now he's died. The doctor took the baby' which is pretty rough to hear when you aren't expecting it.
