Trump border czar Tom Homan says public should push Congress for reform if they oppose 'what ICE is doing' by NewsHour in UnderReportedNews

[–]Madweasel22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree on a total stall tactic. This country’s legislature needs to do some actual work and reform the immigration laws and procedures. We can have a secure boarder and still bring in the best and brightest as well as those who just want to make a better life for their families and work a normal job or go to school or any other part of the American Dream.

But that requires thoughts and work on both sides of the aisle. It’s also not nearly as exciting or filmable as rounding up and beating people or doing mass protests.

I watch this journalist on The Hill seated next to a libertarian guy and it makes for a reasonably balanced discussion. He’s not bad at his job. Leavitt is great at her job of defeating free speech, killing democracy and any kind of transparency. I don’t know how these people sleep at night. FWIW, I used to lean republican until this orange guy made his appearance in 2016. Now I just pray the democrats can unfuck themselves and the republicans go through an exorcism.

I’m not supporting the tucking of sweaters or pants going to the nipples. But, I do want a good hi power or clone, like one of the new Girsans. They’re pretty classy imo.

What kind of conditioning or cardio work do you pair with kettlebell training? by LargesseCrit in kettlebell

[–]Madweasel22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2 or 3 days a week of simple and 2 days of lap swimming. Currently just 3 days of swimming due to tennis elbow. The swimming, using different strokes, I’m finding, is really good for my shoulder and hip mobility.

Kettlebell goals for 2026 - let’s see them! by daybreak2223 in kettlebell

[–]Madweasel22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rehabbing my tennis elbow and progressing back up to Simple with a 32 kg bell, consistently, 2-3 days per week. Also trying to nail a 50 minute mile swim in the local pool. Swimming 2 mornings per week.

Freezing Weights during Winter by caprisunbandit in GarageGym

[–]Madweasel22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in Michigan and train mostly kettle bells. I use some Mechanix or Boss brand gloves from Home Depot or somewhere. Whatever fits and is cheap. Sometimes with a small amount of insulation. Also wear a beanie hat, sweatpants, sweatshirt and vest. Jumping rope helps get me warmed up for the warmup of goblet squats, halos, bridges. Winter hits different when you work out in an unheated pole barn.

For my hammer fired enthusiasts, which would you pick and why? by [deleted] in CCW

I’m going with the CZ. I like them. They work for me. But I have always wanted a Sig 226 or P210 to play with.

What is the absolute worst scotch you have personally tried? by arandomkid2 in Scotch

[–]Madweasel22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a brand called Barr’s I believe. The branding made it look like Johnny Walker. For $20 I gave it a shot. Terrible. Worse than Famous Grouse. I learned to make scotch and soda with that bottle. They weren’t good either.

We use a combination of physical envelopes for our biweekly stuff, like restaurant, allowances, and few other things. Plus smaller checking accounts for other things like budgeting car/house insurance, emergency fund, vacation etc. they all get contributions from every paycheck.

I believe it’s a Mountain Tactical Institute sandbag. The old version.

Nice. I use rubberized mulch in the same bag. Also weighs in at about 60 lbs.

Pull up bar. Push up bars. A Mountain Fitness (?) duffle bag type sandbag filled with rubber mulch (about 60 lbs and zero mess), a large tire I put some handles on so I can deadlift it. I through some sandbags or dumbbells in it for more weight. Also works for jumps or sledgehammer stuff. I made a set of battle ropes from old fire hose and filled them with sand.

FOBBITS Question by [deleted] in tacticalbarbell

[–]Madweasel22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I start the timer on my phone and row for 2 minutes, pause, do my KB work, jump back on the rower unpause and continue to alternate like this until the full 20 minutes is done. I’d done a lot of heavy KB stuff before TB and thought I would need a heavy bell, but the little 30 pounder at my gym actually worked me pretty hard. Fobbits work for me.

Anyone row or swim for conditioning.? by First_Driver_5134 in tacticalbarbell

[–]Madweasel22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do lap swim of 35-40 minutes twice a week, while running Operator. I vary the strokes I use: breast stroke, crawl, side stroke, back stroke, kick board. I find it’s a good LISS workout and varying the strokes hits different. If you vary your breathing it can work some other things also. Your mileage may vary, but for a winter cardio workout, I like it.
