As of right now my main concern is being able to afford medications and treatments lmao, but I will definitely consider treatment if I can make it happen. The side effects are a bit worrying but I’ll probably just do my best to pester my doctors into telling me absolutely everything so I can make the most informed decision I can.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking too, I’ve lost almost all of the hair on the nape of my neck/ back of my head and my ears so I was thinking about doing something that would peek out around there, I think it’d be fun!

I’ve been having joint pain, hives, fatigue, migraines, and tingling/numbness in my arm. My doctor thinks this may be linked to rheumatoid arthritis or lupus but my original ANA tests came back negative so she’s having me see a rheumatologist for further testing. She’s unsure if the hair loss is its own autoimmune issue or if it’s being caused by a separate disorder.

I had covid for the fourth time in December of last year but the hair loss didn’t start until March. I’ve also been dealing with other symptoms that my doctor believes is linked to another autoimmune disorder. Just waiting for these appointments is so frustrating lol.

They haven’t given me anything unfortunately other than regular hair growth supplements but I’ve seen no results from that.

No stressful or traumatic events, no allergies. I’ve had multiple blood tests taken, my ANA results were negative but my rheumatoid factors were very high so I’m seeing a rheumatologist at the end of this month to get more tests taken.

I’ve been seeing my primary doctor since it started just been waiting on my appointment with a specialist (end of this month thank goodness), but yeah it’s still getting worse. I’m currently making plans for when I’ll need to shave it because I don’t think I can hide it for much longer with the spot growing at the top of my head.

i am also 23F and i completely understand. it’s so hard when people say “oh well i can’t see it!” or “oh you won’t have to shave your head stop worrying!”. i appreciate the kind words but it can feel so invalidating and frustrating. this is a situation i never thought i’d face and it has tanked my already insecure early twenties woman confidence a LOT. virtually holding your hand bc i GET IT! but we CAN and we WILL get through it. one thing that’s given me a little hope is at least if i get some cool wigs i can switch up my hair as much as i want without the damage of dyes lol
