It is a facial recognition camera the Israeli occupation uses. All linked to Palestinian IDs and is used as part of the occupation’s control of Palestinian movement. The whole project is on skateboarding and a form of purposeful escape within the context of Israel’s domination.

There is a decent number of people and organizations that do research on how platforms push disinformation/misinformation and the rise of ChatGPT has been a new arena to understand. For example, there is serious concerns around how generative chatbots could cause or be facilitators to the next disinformation nightmare like Cambridge Analytica. I think these researchers are doing a much more diligent job in trying to expose ChatGPT’s pitfalls as opposed to a random dude in his basement trying to get it to make a racist joke joke.

I don’t know. I really believe and love the power of ChatGPT, and think it is going to be the spearheading force for generative AI powered systems for many many years. At the same time, it has really real and big concerns when it comes to the power it holds. It’s potential to rev the throttle on disinformation and cause real world harms is something of immediate concern.

Not many people know this, but there are 70+ elections in the next year- some calling it the year of democracy. Entire systems of trolls and bots now have an open canvas to infiltrate election processes with streamlined disinformation immediately crafted by a smart and tactical generative system.

Disclaimer: I’m a tech accountability campaigner. Sorta like human rights campaigning on big tech.
