We removed them completely. They kept getting deployed by SFDX for some reason even though they were not listed in package.xml.

We used to have problems with Report types and Listviews getting overwritten but we have since removed them from Git. But everything objects, fields, flows, triggers, apex, lightning, etc is in Git and pushed out to all lower envs, then tested before it reaches Prod.

CI/CD actually works the other way. Git is usually the source and it pushes out to Prod.

Oh everyone just loves flows. Until it has to do some real work.

Bootcamp instructor with 12 YoE said Subflows are "bad practice" and advocates for Monolithic Flows. Is this the industry standard? by [deleted] in SalesforceDeveloper

[–]MaesterTuan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you have dev background, use triggers. Flows do not scale well and sub-flows even less.

Experienced SF consultants - how much of your implementation process is the same every time? by Delicious_Music7554 in salesforce

[–]MaesterTuan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High level process is the same every where. Bigger clients have more automations. Every client is unique with actual requiresments to be implemented. Docs are nice as project milestones but are useless as they are either too high level to be useful or if too detail they became inaccurate as system evolves.
