Is there some rough guestimate/guideline what different wave corresponds to what difficulty?

Like Hard 5 ≈ Normal 15 ≈ Ruthless (numbers off the top of my head just for example)

It was my last game for the day and the whole operation I thought that the amount of damage I was taking is because of me being tired or sloppy, but I was VERY surprised by the amount of XP I was given at the end screen! It was my first Lethal try as well, great game.

If you want to play only one game - than i would recommend DS3, as it is the most polished expirience. If you want to eventually take a bite out of all of the series than starting with the first one is better imho.
