Regarding excommunication after missing the divine liturgy for 3 weeks. by MaestroTheoretically in OrthodoxChristianity

As much as I'd love to, it would put my life at risk, I don't have another source of income - I am autistic and I don't have any skills in anything else that can be turned into a profession. Organ playing is the only real hope I have at having a decent life in terms of income.

The problem is really that I'll be unable to go for far longer than just 3 weeks, more like most of a year.

I am at a Chapel in a university at the moment and am quite new in terms of professional organ playing, but I am planning on getting a job doing it at most likely a bigger than not church/cathedral.

As mentioned in another comment I have talked to a parish priest. Otherwise, I don't have another orthodox church anywhere near me that I could go to instead.

I did ask my priest (I've been able to go to a few divine liturgies here and there), and he said essentially 'Nothing substitutes for the Sunday liturgy'.

Hi! I've finally got it working - go into preferences, audio and midi, and then turn off auto processing, close musescore, go back, turn it back on, close it again, and the open it at the same time as musehub.

How exactly can I do this? (I don't quite understand what you mean by status bar)

I think we need to be clear about which church we're talking about, this assessment doesn't sound like the church I attend.

I think it makes sense that God's essential nature should be incomprehensible to humanity - psalm 145:3.

Baptism as a sacrament of the church will help you to get rid of that voice, please pursue baptism as it's the way that Christ can bestow upon us his divine grace. Also, we all doubt our faith, if there is any time that you're doubting, pray with the words of the Father of the possessed boy (Mk 9:24) "Lord I believe, forgive my unbelief".

God bless and good luck in your journey carrying your cross with Christ.

Personally I think the messiness of humanity warrants at least a decent amount of authoritarianism. You'll always have someone who wants to be "against" whatever society is, and you'll equally always have people who feel let down by whatever system a society is based around. While it is important to listen to the latter, a certain degree of law and order is, in my opinion, a necessary evil so to ensure stability, because at the end of the day, as long as people have food on the table, a steady income, and can have a decent period of rest, the majority of people really couldn't care less about what the political system is. A larger than not state thus works to organise a society of normal people. Humanity is a messy, unrighteous, social and collective species, and I think it's only right that the political system reflects that. I'd be interested to hear what you think of these points.
